The Fritz.

Today, 300+ wrestlers from North Carolina took a loss at NHSCA Nationals.
Some in the first round.
Some after a win or two.

Tomorrow, every one of them wakes up in the same place:
The backside.

And there is nothing easy about it.

NHSCA consolations are different.
No time to recover.
No easy matches.
Every opponent is dangerous.
Every match is a fight to stay alive.

It’s physical.
It’s mental.
It’s a grind.

Last year, Ian Fritz was right there.

An elite North Carolina wrestler.
2× State Champion at Topsail.

He drew a tough first-round match…
and lost by a point.

0–1.

Then he went to work.

Match after match.
Win after win.
No margin for error.

And somewhere along that run…
he saw that same opponent again.

The one who beat him in the first round.

And this time—
he flipped it.

That’s The Fritz.

Not just surviving the backside.
Owning it.

He won 10 straight matches…
and walked out with bronze.
10–1.

So now we say it differently:

You don’t just wrestle back.
You Fritz the backside.

To every North Carolina wrestler starting that journey tomorrow:

Your tournament isn’t over.
Your path just got harder.
