Sem KImono (no gi). The room was "hot" with talent. College wrestlers, pro fighters, Jiu-Jitsu wizards, and regular folk mixing it up!
I went by the gym and it is all set up for classes. I will not be at the gym till 7:30pm tonight. I have open house at school. But the show goes on! Everyone knows what to do. There may be some new prospects trying class. I also have to get some gis handed out to new students. I will do that later this week.

Some grappling with strikes last night. Pressure testing positions. Contrary to what some have been made to believe, the core of Jiu-Jitsu is real fighting.

Today I mounted the AED box and new AED on the wall under the stairs. It's centrally located between both mat rooms and easy to access for gym members. A few months ago one of Mike Smith's old buddies passed away during an open mat in California. I believe Matt Strack told me he knows of two people who had cardiac emergencies during classes. Later this fall we will have our CPR/AED certification class for anyone who needs/wants to atttend.
Shout out to last nights 7pm no gi class. We got started moving and never stopped. It was one of my favorite classes this summer! Everyone was engaged, on task, and getting better. Good stuff!

Wax on....wax off! Treating the cedar with beeswax polish.
Horrible storms. I will be at class but I encourage everyone to make safe choices. As a young man I tried to never miss a class. As an old man I know that is silly. Be cautious, be safe.
