Part 3: Children Should Never Face Bullying Alone
There is no single solution to bullying. It takes communication between children, parents, teachers, counselors, coaches, instructors, and other trusted adults.
If bullying is repeated, threatening, physical, affecting your child’s education, or happening online, document what has occurred. Record dates, locations, names, witnesses, injuries, and damaged belongings. Save screenshots of harmful messages.
Contact the appropriate school staff and ask:
How will the situation be investigated?
What can be done to help my child feel safe?
Who should my child go to if it happens again?
When will we follow up?
At Elkhart Martial Arts & Fitness Academy, we believe confidence should be paired with kindness, physical ability with self-control, and leadership with respect for others.
Martial arts cannot prevent every difficult situation, but it can help children find their voice, establish boundaries, manage their emotions, and ask for help when they need it.
Continue checking in with your children, even when everything appears to be fine. Listen carefully, take changes seriously, and remind them that speaking up is a sign of courage.
Together, we can help raise children who are confident enough to stand tall, kind enough to include others, and courageous enough to ask for help.
