📌 LET’S GET PINNING!

We all know what it means when your horse is “pinning” at the horse show… 🏆

But at the Hunter Showdown, we’re giving pinning a whole new meaning! We’re bringing a little TEAM sports-event tradition to the horse show and inviting everyone to join in on the fun!

📌 What’s pinning?
Make or decorate fun little clothespins with compliments, encouragement, good luck messages, barn inside jokes, or anything positive and “pin” them onto another rider’s bag, shirt, jacket, water bottle, etc.

And here’s where we think it gets REALLY fun:

🐴 Make them together as a barn!
Turn pin-making into a pre-show project for your riders, parents, and trainers. Get creative, use your barn colors, make them ridiculous, sweet, inspirational, or completely horse-show-specific.

🤝 Then trade them!
Once you get to Hunter Showdown, seek out riders from OTHER barns and swap pins. The goal? Leave the show with a collection of encouragement from people you may not have known when you arrived.

Maybe you pin someone who just had a great round.

Maybe you leave a little good luck charm for a nervous first-timer.

Maybe you find someone wearing your barn’s pin across the show grounds. ❤️

Because at the end of the day, we may compete against each other in the ring, but we’re all part of the same horse show family outside of it.

And honestly… if your barn doesn’t have a little friendly competition over who can make the BEST pins, are you even doing it right?

RCHJA will have pins available at the show to get everyone started, but we’d LOVE to see what your barns come up with!

🏆 Then go PIN a class! 😉

Yay!!!

We have exciting news to share!!

RCHJA is pleased to announce that it will be working with Clay County to improve the footing in both outdoor rings at the Clay County Fairgrounds.

We anticipate sharing additional details as they come available. Improvements will be completed no later than the end of January 2027.

We are excited about this progress and look forward to enhancing the rings for our exhibitors and the equestrian community.

We have endless gratitude to our supporters and generous donor, who make it all possible. So let's save those 2027 dates and look forward to a great show season in brand new sandboxes!!

We have a few rare openings in our Intermediate & Advanced Program! We also have half-lease opportunities available on select show horses and ponies that are part of our program. Half leases are a great option for riders looking for more consistency and time in the saddle while continuing to ride within our program. Message us for more information!

💚 In Support of Mark Chesser’s Family 💛

This weekend, we are honored to offer a special Silent Auction item: an Adult Amateur Summer Starter Package generously donated by Lucille and Bruce Markert.

All proceeds from this auction will be donated directly to the family of Mark Chesser following his recent and unexpected passing.

Mark was a trusted farrier, a friend to many, and a dedicated member of our local equestrian community. His work supported countless horses and horse owners over the years, many of which are exhibitors of ours, and his loss has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew him.

The horse community has always come together in times of need, and this is one of those moments.

We encourage everyone attending the Summer Block Party to stop by the Silent Auction and place a bid. Every dollar raised will go directly to supporting Mark’s family during this difficult time.

If you are unable to attend the show, or if you aren't the winning bidder, we encourage you to consider supporting the family through their GoFundMe campaign. Every contribution, no matter the size, is a meaningful expression of the love and support that surrounds them.

So incredibly sad. We all loved Mark, and my horses did too. He was one of the kindest people you could meet and truly loved what he did. He took such good care of our horses and will be deeply missed.

If anyone is able to help support his family during this difficult time, please reach out to me so we can do what we can. ❤️

Hey everyone. It’s a sad day at the farm. Our farrier, Mark Chesser was killed in a horrific accident early this morning While out for a morning walk. Mark was a wonderful man and always there when we needed him. He leaves behind a beautiful family who could use our help. I am asking all barns that used his services to get in touch with me and partner with us to raise money for his family. Cash and check preferred but we can accept Venmo and PayPal as well. Contact me for more info on all of that. In addition, we will be launching a GO FUND ME page tonight and will post it, so please watch for that and share, share, share.
