Superdojo

Superdojo Studies show that confident social skills is the #1 drug abuse prevention method.

Our goal is to reduce violence and drug abuse in our community using martial arts and self defense classes (kids 3+ and adults) that apply social and emotional learning in effective ways. ❤️ Superdojo is made up of a team of positive martial arts instructors who take action to affect a child's confidence, discipline, and self-esteem for the better in order to prevent future violence and drug abuse in our community. In addition our theory is that proper emotional understanding and self-awareness can also prevent violence and help people make better decisions. Since we are so good at teaching martial arts that it has become almost effortless to create champions, we've combined our martial arts drills with games and challenges that help kids learn how to be a good person, take care of their teammates, and be assertive and set boundaries.

STAY STRONG!

We're on our second week of school and it's natural to have some routine challenges! Kids will be extra tired after school and silly at bedtime or hard to wake up in the morning... this happens every year! Ride the wave and in a few weeks, it'll all level out - I promise!

SEPTEMBER 19: BRAIN UNDER PRESSURE

Do you ever see your kid first thing in the morning get up and are completely self-propelled?
..then the next morning they are struggling, getting stuff done but then losing track and getting distracted... barely making it to the bus?
..then the next morning they are whining, complaining, can't get anything done, and then end up missing the bus?

Isn't it weird how it changes so much sometimes?

If your kid has different experiences in the morning, after school "kooky-crazy" behavior, before sports anxiety, then this seminar is SO POWERFUL in helping Hero Coaches understand what's going on and how to squash it instantly to prevent conflict or problems... giving kids the skills to cope and accomplish their challenges.

Maybe your kid is on-point every morning! This seminar will give you strategies to keep that going all the way into high school, college, and when they're expected to be able to do it all without anyone there to give them accountability except themselves!

WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON THIS WEEK:

Last week, I had one of my classes with older kids add up how many kicks they threw during all the drills in class and many kids were at, near, or over 400 kicks! That's what I'm talking about!

This week, we'll be doing all sorts of drills that challenge balance, focus, attention, and build strong muscles for fast kicks and health!

Let's have an awesome week of training! Since we missed Monday for Labor Day, be sure to get that make-up class this week, jump into zoom on Thursday, or do some booster workouts for that attendance point!

This incredible course I'm teaching on september 19 is for parents that have every had something along these lines happen:

**Mom: "We're going out to play in the snow, get your snow boots on!"

**Kid: "I don't want to wear snow boots, I want to wear my flip flops!"

**Mom: "It's too cold for flip flops, we need to wear snow boots, put them on."

Kid has a fit, tantrum, argues like crazy. WHY!? Why are you fighting me on this!?

It might not be about snow boots, it might be able putting more ketchup on the plate, it's about ANYTHING.

You call it testing boundaries, a bid for connection, a kid's bid for control... whatever the reason it's happening, parents' goals is to GET SH*T DONE - and without an argument is what we're after.

The event we're doing on 9/19 is going to have a THEME and a SECRET THEME.

For kids, they are going to be learning about board breaking, which is one of the most fun things ever. Using this theme, they're going to learn about emotional management when it comes to dealing with uncertainty, stress, and anxiety - PERFECT for board breaking challenges!

For parents, they are going to learn about executive function and how a kid's brain works - WHEN YOU LEARN THIS, THOSE SNOW BOOT ISSUES ARE GOING TO GO AWAY - well, the problem will probably still be there, but you'll be so chill, so cool in handling it, you'll think you're wearing flip flops in the snow yourself!

And I'm not lecturing - this event is ALL ACTION.

I have a unique way of putting these things together to create HERO COACHES and SUPERDOJO ATHLETES. When you participate, you have the chance to join our community of people you want your kids to grow up around.

Register for this event here: www.superdojochallenge.com and get your first taste of what Superdojo is all about. This event has 2 groups - 5-8 year olds and 9 & older, so you'll slide into the time slot that makes sense for your family. Parents must attend with their kids, get real.

If you are already a member, register too and don't miss your spot! Bring a friend to this one!

I'm so pumped about this event and it makes sense that we're doing it a few weeks after school starts! This event showcases my unique way of teaching kids important life skills and coaching parents how to communicate effectively through my HERO COACH program!

In this workshop, kids are going to be smashing boards - some are rebreakable and then at the end, they'll all get to break wooden boards. If you have a kid who goes to a Cecil County Public School, they probably already know me and have always wanted the chance to smash one up!

This time, I'm implementing an incredible tool for coaches and parents called the Brain Readiness Scan, which takes kids in from wherever they start - if they had a rough day at school, they're not going to be able to focus very well. If they have ADHD like me, they are always "orbiting." Last, if they are on-point, then they feel much more grounded... we don't get to only teach the most focused kids, we need a system that gets ALL the kids on point and ready to learn...
..and I've mastered it!

So, parents are going to learn an impressive tool to get their kids mindset right for the day, before sports practice, and even locked in and ready for bed!

Coaches are going to learn an impressive tool to get ALL their athletes on point after they're depleted after a long day of school!

There's only 42 slots per age group, so check in and lets make it happen! See you there on September 19, 2026!

Below is the flyer that my students can share with their friends, but adults on Facebook can also go to the website to register!

5-8 year olds at 10am
9+ at 12pm

This is a free community event with an opportunity to enroll in my program at the end, but no obligation. We will get new members from this, but it'll be because they see that my facility has a culture that is right for their family, 2 week free membership after the event and no pressure in enrolling afterwards!

Fun Friday today! We have day camp today, a full week of summer camp next week and then after that, the last fun Friday of the summer!

During camps, we’re doing Superdojo training (this month is self defense and board smashing) and a ton of fun team building games and crafts.

Lately camp has been mostly Superdojo girl athletes and they’re always playing pranks on me! From putting toy fake cockroaches in surprising places for me to find to yaassifying me on coloring book pages… I think I’ve got the “Blanch from Golden Girls” vibe on this one.

Day camps are $65 for the day and next week’s camp is $275. Use this link to lock in your spot for $15. If you can’t pay all at once, we’ll work it out 😉 https://sparkpages.io/?i=_YQ4b

Rebuilding Superdojo, video 11, part 3. This is the last one! We’re back, baby!

08/12/2026

We gotta get everything put back and there’s only 6 hours to go! It’s on!! This video was back on July 1, we’re opened up and busy right now- we have about 10 new members starting per week! Superdojo.org

We do testing every month!

Most martial arts schools have long, 6 hour tests every few months with stripe testings in between.

This is a little bit projection, I have to be honest, because we used to do this because it’s an industry standard… and there are instructors who will read this and say, the most common thing said by any martial arts instructor…

It’s not “punch,” it’s not “kick,” it’s “that’s not how I do it at my school!” 😂😂😂

Anyway, the stripe testings are usually “when they’re ready.” What happens here is some kids get left behind because once stripe testing is over, it’s not the primary focus in learning - it’s just practice and on to the next thing.

So what happens right before those quarterly big tests, it’s crunch time and kids either get all their stripes at the once at the last minute or they don’t get stripes at all and have to wait another 3 months and start again. Then don’t even get me started with rotating curriculum, which means those students will skip that curriculum and they won’t see it again for a long time.

EVERY MONTH, we do a stripe testing which EQUALS the big tests that other martial arts schools do, divided into 3. So instead of 6 hours, each test is 30-45 minutes.

Wam, bam, thank you ma’am.

And you know what’s crazy, there is literally ZERO change in quality of Superdojo students compared to schools with the same population that have crazy strict tests.

I just teach them really, really well.

You could even say I’m the best… but you said that, not me.

Every other month, it’s a different KIND of test. This month, it’s the vigorous challenge. A rigorous workout involving fitness, self-defense, and board breaking. I love board breaking with self defense because self defense is “protecting yourself with the least amount of strikes necessary” and board breaking is “destroy the board in one hit.” See the similarity?

Next month is THE BIG EVENT. This is all about conditioning where students learn new techniques and combos and then are challenged to get the highest score possible in the challenge. It’s like a tournament!

There’s no need to reinvent the wheel, I have to say, but the way I do it takes the old wagon wheel and replaces it with a lightweight race car tire. So much more fun and efficient!
