CWU did previously have a 4-star recruit who was ranked higher than Joe Jefferson. It was none other than defensive end Eugene Germany! He was a top-100 recruit in the nation and the #8 ranked recruit out of California in 2004. Two notable names from Cali ranked above him? Michael Bumpus and Marshawn Lynch!

Hailing from Indiana, former 4-star recruit Joseph Jefferson has to be one of Central 's highest rated recruits ever! Joe spent 3 years at Purdue and initially transferred to Western Michigan after the 2024 season before announcing a transfer to Louisville, but never ended up playing football in 2025.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ recruit ➡️ CWU!!! Former Purdue defensive back Joseph Jefferson II is taking his talents to the 'Burg! He was the #10 class of 2022 recruit ( #1 defensive back) in Indiana and #36 safety in the nation out of high school, ranked 4 stars by 247 Sports and 3 stars by ESPN. Joe spent 3 years as a Boilermaker, playing in all 12 games in 2024 with 31 tackles.

Western Michigan transfer DB Isaiah Paul is coming to CWU! The journeyman started his career at Montana State Northern where he hauled in 9 interceptions in 2020-21. Isaiah added another 4 interceptions at LA Valley College (JUCO) in 2023 before tallying 11 tackles and a pick across 2024-25 at WMU.

CWU finally found their class of 2026 quarterback in Rylan Hatmaker from Cashmere HS! Rylan was named to the All-State 1A Team and in his high school career he passed for 6631 yards and 111 touchdowns!

Texas A&M University-Texarkana will begin a football program in 2028, putting CWU and Western Oregon's status as affiliate members of the Lone Star Conference in jeopardy.

Isaac Torres' 2025 season at Cal was cut short by a misdiagnosed internal injury, causing him to lose his walk-on roster spot and leave the program midseason. Torres will look to bounce back big in his final college year in Ellensburg!
Despite injury saga, former Piner and SRJC football standout grateful for time at Cal The wide receiver’s time with the Golden Bears ended as he tried to recover from what turned out to be a serious health issue.

CWU is adding some size in the WR room with 6'4" Cal Berkeley transfer Isaac Torres! Before Cal, Torres starred at Santa Rosa JC where he amassed 872 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2023.
