Queen City Athletics - Ellsworth, Maine opens their doors at The Forge Sunday, August 30!!!
Hello QCA Ellsworth Family,
As you are likely aware by now, we are entering our last week at the Maine Coast Mall. We will be closing THIS COMING THURSDAY morning around 8:00 am (08/27/2026) until Sunday (08/30/2026) when we will officially open the doors at our new space at The Forge (17 Commerce Park Ellsworth, ME) at 9:00 am. We will have owners, management, and other staff on hand to conduct tours and answer any questions. We have been hard at work over the past month putting down new flooring, painting, putting down turf, updating the bathroom, updating some electrical work, and putting in the new door readers. It's quickly starting to take shape and we are so excited for this next chapter.
A few things to take note of over the next week:
*The sale of weekly memberships was halted today but will resume on August 30th. The sale of day passes will be halted on August 27th, 28th, and 29th and will also resume on August 30th. Please note that we are only stopping the sale of those membership options at our Ellsworth location, weekly and daily passes are still available for purchases for Bucksport, Hermon, and Veazie.
*On that note, during our closure in Ellsworth, our members are encouraged to visit our other locations in Bucksport (124 US Route 1/Suite D/Bucksport, ME), Hermon (2402 US Route 2/Suit P/Hermon, ME), and/or our athletic training center in Veazie (1017 School Street/Veazie, ME). This is a good time to remind you that your membership is good at all four locations. All four locations also offer 24/7 access.
*There are some coming changes in the new space:
*There is a small cafe that offers an assortment of beverages, snacks, etc. They are planning to extend their hours to meet the demands of our customers.
*There is also a full basketball court, we are in the works of developing a joint membership option where our gym members have use of the basketball court.
*This new space also offers two separate floors. The first floor will hold the majority of the cardio, free-weight, and pin-select equipment. The second floor has the turf, functional equipment, shower, and a new training rack with three separate stations for squats, bench, or deadlifts. We are going to be doing the majority of our classes, clinics, and sports performance training on the second floor but our members are obviously free to use this space as well. The good news is we have plenty of room to grow in this new space. As soon as the dust settles and as we become acclimated to this new space our plan is to add new pieces of equipment. We also have the ability to add additional shower rooms, which is part of our long-term plan.
*Please note that the doors are going to remain locked at all times, as such, members are asked to please bring their phones with them to badge into the second floor space.
We would like to thank you for your patience and sticking with us during this time. We understand that this week will be emotional, this location at the Maine Coast Mall has been home for some of you for many years. It'll be sad to close the doors for the last time but the new opportunities we will be able to offer our members at The Forge make it worth it.
Thank you again,
Shawn
