Soaring Eagles Battle With Panthers on Senior Night - Elmira College Athletics ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College men's wrestling team hosted the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford inside the Speidel Gymnasium for Senior Night as they honored Nick Lopez. The Soaring Eagles put up a hard fight but fell just short of the mark 35-18.

Men's Wrestling Marks Two Podium Finishers at NYS Collegiate Open - Elmira College Athletics SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Elmira College men's wrestling team traveled to compete in the NYS Collegiate Open with six wrestlers. John Robyck was seen collecting a first-place finish while Donavan Smith collected a third-place finish in their respected weight classes.

Smith competed in the 174-bout and posted a 3-1 record on the day. He opened the day with a fall in 2:30 against Jake Abramson from Ithaca. Smith followed up with a 20-4 tech fall in match two against Ethan King from Greensboro in the quarterfinals. In the semifinal match, he went head-to-head with Colby Celuck from Castleton and recorded a 15-0 tech fall to advance to the championship match. In a hard-fought battle against No. 8 ranked Konrad Parker from Ithaca, Smith fell just short in an 11-6 decision to garner second place.

Smith Paves the Way for Elmira at Ithaca College Invitational - Elmira College Athletics ITHACA, Pa. – The Elmira College women's wrestling team opened its season this weekend at the Ithaca College Invitational. Donavan Smith '28 led the way for Elmira with a second-place finish in the 174-weight class.

Head coach John Franchi and the Elmira College men's wrestling program have announced their 2025-26 competition schedule, which features a challenging slate of invitationals, duals, and conference meets leading into the postseason.
The schedule includes a mix of regional rivals, traditional tournament stops, and the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships to close the year.
