🪿 MEET OLIVIA, THE LAX GOOSE. 🪿

Every great team needs a mascot, and apparently ours is a desk goose with a very serious job.

We have officially named her Olivia the Lax Goose, after Olivia Langdon Clemens. Why Olivia? Because she is strong, wise, powerful, resilient, and apparently has absolutely no problem staring down an entire lacrosse team.

Olivia is our Player of the Week Goose. Every Thursday, Olivia will be awarded to the player who best represents what we want to be about as a team that week:
💜 Resilience
💛 Grit
💜 Hard work
💛 Energy
💜 Effort
💛 Leadership
💜 Positivity
💛 Being a great teammate
💜 And, of course, making Olivia proud. 🪿

This week, Mal S. has earned Olivia!

Mal has brought all of the above and more. She is an RA, a multiple sport athlete, and she is coming back from a serious injury last season. And somehow, she is making the comeback look effortless.

More importantly, Mal has shown up with leadership, positivity, energy, and a willingness to keep pushing forward. She has been a great example of what it looks like to keep moving, keep working, and keep your teammates lifted along the way.

So, Mal… Olivia is yours. 🪿

Take good care of her. She is strong. She is wise. She is powerful. She is resilient. She is… Olivia the lax Goose.

Two ECWLAX girls really said “we ride at dawn” and entered the hot dog eating contest.

9️⃣ hot dogs.
🔟 minutes.
2️⃣ questionable decisions.
0️⃣ regrets… for now. 💀

No extra conditioning today because honestly… the hot dogs won.

They absolutely ate. Literally.
They relish-ed the moment.
They may now be frankly reconsidering their life choices. 🌭😂

Would they do it again?
Absolutely not.
Would we support our teammates?
Absolutely yes. 😂💜💛

Great work Daizie McMahon & Jenna Forrest !!

Coach Stockwell here 👋👋

Team dinner after practice tonight and I’m just feeling incredibly privileged to have this group. The energy, effort, and commitment this team brings every single day has been incredible to watch.

I’m so proud of the work they’re putting in on the field, in the weight room, and in all the little moments in between.

We’re building something special and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better group to start this journey with.

So grateful to be back at EC and even more grateful to do it with this team.

Purp on 3 💜💜💜

🦅 WELCOME HOME, EMMA BEACH! 💜💛

We are thrilled to welcome Elmira native Emma Beach back home as she transfers to Elmira College from Spalding University!

A standout for the Elmira Express, Emma was a three-year varsity starter and earned Section IV Terrific 10 honors after scoring 19 goals during her senior season. She signed with Spalding in February 2023 and made an immediate impact at the collegiate level.

During her freshman season in 2024, Emma earned:
🏆 HCLC Newcomer of the Year
🏆 HCLC All-Conference First Team
📚 HCAC Spring All-Academic Team
🥍 46 goals + 5 assists
🥍 73.7% shot-on-goal percentage

She continued her success in 2025, starting all 14 games and recording 35 goals, 2 assists, 37 points, 49 draw controls, 26 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers.

Now, Emma is bringing that experience, versatility and competitive edge back to her hometown and to the Soaring Eagles!

We are SO excited to add Emma to our roster and can’t wait to see what she brings to the field. Her journey has come full circle. 💜💛

Got to spend my day at the Haudenosaunee Wooden Stick Festival at Onondaga Lake, and it was a pretty special reminder of where this game truly comes from.

Lacrosse ,the Creator’s Game ,has been part of Haudenosaunee life for centuries. Before the plastic heads, composite shafts, college championships and modern fields, there were wooden sticks, handmade with purpose, tradition and knowledge passed down through generations. The game we love today exists because of the Haudenosaunee people who created it, protected it and continue to carry its traditions forward.

And you can’t talk about the history of the wooden stick without talking about Alfred “Alfie” Jacques. Alfie spent decades preserving that tradition, carrying on the craft he learned from his father, Louis, and hand making more than 80,000 wooden sticks throughout his lifetime. His work wasn’t just about making a stick it was about keeping a piece of the Creator’s Game alive.

Being there today, especially knowing Alfie isn’t here to share his stories and craft with us anymore, made it even more meaningful.

I’m grateful for the people who came before us, the people who continue this work today, and the Haudenosaunee community for sharing, protecting and carrying this game forward.

As coaches, players and fans, we get to carry the game on in so many different ways. But we should never forget whose game it is, where it came from, and the people who made it possible for all of us to love it today.

Grateful to learn. Grateful to listen. Grateful to carry it forward. 🥍💜🦅
