Elmira Community Cycle

The June Moon Ride is almost here! Come ride with us on Friday, June 26 at 9 pm. We meet in front of our shop at 200 W 5th Street in Elmira, near Elmira College and the Hilliard Corporation. Bring your bike, lights, and a helmet. These rides meander around town, with one or more stops, and are usually around 10 miles total, with shorter options possible. We have a few adaptive bikes available for those who aren’t able to ride a traditional bike, just let us know a few days in advance if you are interested. We hope that you will join us!

Calling all youth summer cyclists! Get a free helmet and safety lesson before a ride through Elmira on June 30th at the LECOM Event Center! Ride safe this summer and protect your noggin for school next year!

Show your support of Elmira’s only Community Bike Shop by wearing some of our merch! Brian left shop today with new tubes, appropriate tire pressure, and a sharp ECC logo t-shirt. Available for purchase during our open shop hours Tuesday and Thursday 5:30-8:30 pm and Saturday mornings in the summer 9-12pm. As a reminder, our open shop will be closed this Saturday, but you can find us at the Juneteenth festival at EOP in Elmira.

ECC will be at Juneteenth again this year! The shop will be closed on Saturday, June 20th, as we prepare for this event, but we encourage you to ride your bike over to Ernie Davis Park to enjoy some great music, food, craft vendors, company, and more. See you there!

Join us this Saturday, June 13th, at noon, for an ice cream bike ride! We will ride a few miles around town, before making our way to a local bike ice cream shop. The current weather forecast predicts sunny skies and temperatures in the high 70s. We will meet in front of the shop at noon. This will be a casual ride, and all are welcome. See you then!

Do you remember when you first learned how to ride a bike? For many kids (and parents), this is an important core memory. At ECC, we want to support children and their parents in making riding a bicycle safe and affordable. We have been able to work toward that goal in a few ways over the past few weeks.

Last week, ECC hosted a local Cub Scouts pack, teaching them some bike basics, and providing free helmets. We also recently provided the Chemung County Library District with kids bike prizes for their upcoming Summer Reading Club program.

If you come to our shop during our open hours, we have free kids helmets and a selection of kids bikes available. As the end of the school year approaches, we hope everyone has a safe and fun summer!

Join us this Saturday afternoon for our annual Mural Fest ride! We will meet in front of the shop this Saturday, May 30, at noon. From there, we will embark on a casual ride around town to view Elmira Infinite Canvas murals from years past, before ending the ride at Clemens Square for this year’s Mural Fest event. The event will include live music, food, craft vendors, interactive stencil painting, activities for kids, and more. We hope you will join us!
