Winter isn’t quite through with us yet here on Moose Lake.

This is the last of the ice floating around Moose Lake this afternoon. Some lakes that are often earlier than Moose had a bit more ice left late today, but most of them should be out tonight. I would guess some of the deeper lakes will be a bit yet, but with all of the rain we’ve been having everything should be getting close soon. Water levels are very high with the rain and the timing of it as you can see in the photos.

The ice is really deteriorating and some open water spots have appeared today. Getting closer.

The rain caused some more damage, but it looks like it will still be a few days before ice out here on Moose. The storms and substantial rain we had last night did open up a few of the smaller area lakes.

It doesn’t look like it will warm up enough today for it to go out, but we’re getting pretty close. The warm weather this weekend should see all of Moose Lake’s ice out, but some of the deeper lakes will be a few days after that.
