Ely Timberwolves Football Family

For the past 11 years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to be on the sideline as an assistant and head coach of the Ely Timberwolves football team. During those 11 seasons, I have grown in so many ways as a teacher, a coach, and as a person. I have taken away so many wonderful relationships with former and current coaches, players, managers and families. I have been able to create memories that I will bring with me the rest of my life. As Missy and I are eagerly waiting for the arrival of our daughter, I can't help but to think how lucky I am to have such an amazing family. The only regret that I have from my years coaching is missing out on time with my family. After days of thinking, I have decided to make a difficult but right decision for me and my family. I am resigning from my position as head coach so I can focus my attention on my beautiful, growing family. As I am stepping away from my role as a coach, I am looking forward to supporting this program as a teacher and as a fan. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me and our football program. I wish nothing but the best to our student athletes. They are truly an amazing group of young men!

Due to field conditions, we will practice today at 4:15 p.m. in the gym. Meet outside of the locker room to get our temperature checked. Make sure to have gym shoes, shoulder pads, helmets and a mask.

Our home game Friday vs NER has been moved to Mesabi East. Kickoff will be at 1:00 PM.

The ticket process will stay the same as it was earlier in the week.

Due to the snow, today's practice is cancelled. We will practice after school tomorrow.

Attention all players and parents:

Thursday's game in Silver Bay has been cancelled. Due to Covid-19 reasons, Silver Bay does not have enough players to play.

A quick reminder that tomorrow is parents' night for our seniors. Parents, please be at the field by 6:30. You will be announced with your son before the game.

All parents looking for ticket information for Wednesday's home game against Cook County, please see the following message for AD, Tom Coombe. We will also be having parents' night on Wednesday.

Football Ticket Procedures/ Oct. 14 game vs. Cook County

First priority to purchase tickets will be given to the parents of Ely
football players, with remaining tickets, if any, to be sold to the general
public on a first come/first serve basis. Each player will be allotted four
tickets. We must also provide 100 tickets to Cook County.
Tickets for the 7 pm game are $6 for adults, $4 for students/seniors. Ely High
School is responsible for collecting ticket money. Payment by check may
be made to ISD 696.
Tickets may be reserved as follows:
• Contacting athletic director Tom Coombe via text at 235-1025 or
email at [email protected] with the following information

1. Name(s)
2. Number of adult tickets/number of student tickets
• All reservations must be made by 10 pm on Monday, Oct. 12;
• All ticket holders' names will be placed on a list for check-in at the
ticket booth at Ely School Stadium;
• No paper tickets will be distributed for home games;
• All payment due at football practice on Tuesday;
• Any remaining tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis,
by reservation only, with deadline of 3 pm Wednesday, Oct. 14.

All fans that bought tickets and are planning on going to the game tomorrow in South Ridge, pack a lawn chair. The stands will be limited to South Ridge fans only. Ely fans will be on the sidelines.

game at South Ridge.
