We had a nice family and friends charter on Sunday targeting the delicious bottom dwellers of the San Mateo coast. Once we loaded up on the rockfish we switched gears to target the salmon below Pigeon Pt. Only one keeper and one shaker for a couple hours of trolling. Some of the commercial salmon boats reported decent numbers fishing locally out of HMB. The fisheries are shaping up very nicely now with good numbers of halibut, striped bass, rockfish, lingcod, and salmon all showing up! Now is the the time to start booking your trips. We ventured back to the waters south of Pigeon Pt. today in search of the elusive fish called a “salmon”. Our fishing day started off with a double on the Kings! We were off to a nice start picking 2 more singles out through the morning stretch. We had a long lull before we had another little shot of action for 3 more fish. We are heading in with 7 salmon to 10 pounds for our 6 anglers.

Salmon fishing below Pigeon Pt. today produced 5 bites resulting in 4 salmon landed. It’s tough fishing with not much to look at. We had all our action in the morning. We trolled around all afternoon chasing down a few big blue whales which did no produce for us.
