In the Missouri Ozarks, there’s no better way to float the teal water of the Jack’s Fork River than on an inner tube with a cooler full of cold drinks in tow! With Windy’s Floats in Eminence, the trip is all about slowing down and enjoying one of Missouri’s prettiest river days from the water. The Jack’s Fork is cold, clear, and spring-fed, so it feels great on a hot summer afternoon. As you drift along, you’ll pass tall limestone bluffs, shaded forest banks, calm bends, rocky shallows, and wide gravel bars that are perfect for stopping along the way.

This is the kind of float where you can swim in the clear water, stretch out in the sun, skip rocks, eat lunch on the shore, or just sit back and let the current carry you. A cooler tube is a smart add-on, giving your group an easy way to bring drinks, snacks, and supplies without crowding your own tube. The river is peaceful, but there is always something to look at, from clear pools and bluff walls to birds, turtles, and other wildlife along the banks.

Later in the trip, it is easy to see why Windy’s 7-mile Alley Spring to Eminence float is their most popular route. The launch area is near Alley Spring, Missouri’s tenth largest spring, and the famous red Alley Mill, which was featured on the 2017 U.S. Quarter. The route is also convenient, with the launch only about 6 miles from Eminence. At the end, floaters take out near Circle B Campground, where Windy’s staff helps with the shuttle back to lodging, campsites, or vehicles. Windy’s is family owned, has three generations of river experience, and is an authorized concessioner in Ozark National Scenic Riverways for summer travelers who want easy outdoor fun!
