Iโm not sure Iโll ever have the right words to explain what it means to see Rosรฉ nominated for ๐๐จ๐๐ค๐๐จ๐ ๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ข๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐ฆ! ๐
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who nominated her, who has followed her journey, cheered for her from the sidelines, celebrated every jump, and been inspired by this incredible little dog.
I also want to wish the very best luck to all of the other teams nominated. ๐ธ๐ฃ๐๐๐ฆ team on this list has a story worth celebrating, and I am truly honored just to be among them.
When Rosรฉ arrived at our home on February 1st as a foster dog, I wasnโt dreaming about her dock divingโฆI was just ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ that she would survive. I honestly thought we were taking her in to show her kindness in what little time she had left.
At 11 years old, Rosรฉ (then โAprilโ) had been dumped by a hunting plantation in Alabamaโthe same plantation that described her as their โmost favorite hunting dog.โ Pointer Rescue saved her, but she was emaciated, suffering from pyometra, and just days away from death.
Prior to being saved, Rosรฉ had been failed in so many ways. She had countless mammary tumors. She endured four major surgeries to remove both mammary chains, lymph nodes, and extract 17 teeth that had been ground-down to the gums. There were many times along the way when we truly didnโt know if she would survive.
She was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic mammary carcinoma and is on metronomic chemotherapyโฆ.But yet somewhere in the middle of everything her body was enduring, something remarkable happened: Her spirit just kept getting โจbrighterโจ.
I certainly never imagined she would become a dock-diving dog. Honestly, I didnโt even expect her to like ๐ค๐๐ก๐๐. Then one day, completely on her own, Rosรฉ decided to take a ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฆ in our home poolโฆAnd then she decided to ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐โฆ.And apparently, she also decided she had found ๐๐๐ฃ ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐!
Her loveโor perhaps more accurately, her absolute ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐โwith dock diving is impossible to miss. The moment she sees that dock, she lights up. She knows exactly where she is and exactly what she came to doโฆ. And her exuberant spirit is contagious.
She has been earning Personal Bests at every competition she attends, and is currently the Number One ranked English Pointer.
Rosรฉ doesnโt know what Stage IV means. She doesnโt know what the statistics say. She doesnโt know that the odds have been stacked against her from the very beginning. She just knows that thereโs a dock in front of her, water below her, and another chance to fly. That is why she inspires ๐ฆ๐.
Rosรฉ has taught me that life isnโt measured by how much time weโre promised. Itโs measured by what we do with the time weโre given. She reminds me to choose joy. To keep showing up. To do the things that make your heart come alive. And to never allow the odds to decide how fully youโre going to live.
I am honored every single time I get to step onto that dock beside her. And I am beyond grateful to everyone who has told me that her story, her determination, and her beautiful spirit have inspired them too. After all she has been through, it would be truly incredible for her to be recognized as DockDogs 2026 Most Inspiring !
