KB MOVING ON⛷🏝🎊
It is with great pleasure and a little sadness I announce that after 45 years, as of October 1 I have sold Adventure Ski & Snowboard School.🌈
Mark Fox, an instructor that taught for me in 1997 and often thought he would like to own my business someday, is the new owner and looking forward to meeting you.
He will put some new life into this business. I have enjoyed doing it for 45 years, but do not have the energy I used to have.
I am not going anywhere. I’m calling it semi-retirement. I am hoping that if I don’t have to return 3 to 5 hours of phone calls and emails every day, along with all the other responsibilities of owning a business, my love for teaching will continue and I will enjoy teaching on weekends for this season.⛷💕
I also plan to focus on helping other people start a revolving carpet SnowSports Simulator with Adventure SnowSports Simulators.
After I post this, I have to get out the door and go to work for my new boss. It’s a little weird not being the boss after so many years, but I think I can get used to it…🤣
I look forward to seeing you and introducing you to Mark who will take Adventure Ski & Snowboard School to new heights.
I am grateful for the people I have served, for the people who have helped me, and for the many blessings we shared.

Our NEW CARPET is 95% complete and feels like fresh ❄️❄️❄️.⛷🏂
It’s mid-June and time for Adventure Ski & Snowboard School to put on a new carpet to offer you the best conditions for the coming seasons.
The old carpet lasted 20 years and is still in good shape, but I felt it was time to replace it.
Changing the carpet is an expensive, major challenging job that I’m glad only has to be done once every 20 years!🥵
This is my first Facebook post in about a year. I’m sorry I’m not more active and don’t have much time for Facebook. When I have something important to say I’ll let you know.
❄️Thanks to Glen McHan of McHans Floor Covering in SD for helping me order and seam together two 12’ foot wide carpets to become one 18’ x 57‘ long carpet. This carpet wasn’t available off the shelf and had to be custom ordered and manufactured from a carpet mill in Georgia and took 3 weeks.
❄️Thanks to Glen from Jus-Turf in SD for gluing canvas to the bottom of the 18x57’ carpet and delivering it to Encinitas ready for us to install. See photos that show his huge shop with lots of floor space and walls filled with various types and colors of turf.
❄️Then the real work began when Tom came down from LA to cut the old carpet off and seam the new carpet together to make one continuous belt. We almost finished it in two long exhausting days, but there’s a few more hours yet to be done so Tom is coming down again on Father’s Day to finish it and make sure everything is perfect.
I can’t thank you enough Tom!🙏
❄️And we couldn’t have done it without Mark and Jeremy‘s help. After making some last snowboard turns on a final run on the old carpet for a half hour, they did much of the heavy lifting and hard work that at my age I can’t do as well as I could 20 years ago. I did as much as I could and never stopped moving, and my body is still tired and a bit sore two days after, but again they did the hard work.💪🥵 Thank you Mark & Jeremy!!
❄️Thanks also to Fernando, AKA Fer who instructed for me many years and now helps out when he can because he is busy with his own business training dogs and their owners, Canine Education SD.
❄️I want to thank my wife Wi who was there the whole time doing what she could to help. She is good with details and in many ways better than I am.💕

❄️I returned from skiing Mammoth for 12 days in mid April and had some fantastic conditions including a few days of fresh powder.
I attended the PSIA Convention where ski & snowboard instructors from all over the West come together to clinic and work on our teaching and technique. I had the pleasure to hang out a bit and swap stories with Glen Plake and his wife, Kimberly. They are both really nice people, PSIA certified instructors and really interested in helping people improve their skiing skills.
