Practicing respect begins in the studio, showing respect to your teachers, fellow students, and yourself.
Commitment is showing up every day to be the best you can be, in and out of the studio!

The things you can achieve when you believe in yourself are incredible.

When we come back from break, we want our dancers to be refreshed and confident heading into the recital season!

The Wiz, 1978
🌟🌈💛

Have you heard of the Wiz? This musical fantasy adventure reimagines the classic Wizard of Oz, with an african american cast and fresh set of songs.

Starring Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and Richard Pryor; it brings us through Oz with a fresh perspective and exciting soundtrack- including the hit song Ease on Down the Road.

It was later adapted into a hit Broadway musical of the same name, choreographed by JaQuel Knight- the same person who choreographed Beyonce’s Single Ladies!

Dona Massin
🌈💗✨

In 1939, at the age of 21, Massin was signed to production of The Wizard of Oz, where she worked as a choreographer assisting Bobby Connolly.

Dona was the first to sing the song “Over The Rainbow”, and it was she who pushed for the song to be in the film. She also originated the skip that was performed down the yellow brick road. The skip is a ballet step called pas de basque, however, Massin had it executed at a quicker speed than was usual for the step to set it apart.

In the film itself, Massin can be seen grooming the Lion in the scene at the beauty shop. Mervyn Leroy put her in that part to bring good luck to the film. 🍀

She was involved in over 100 movies during the course of her career!

What are some goals you have for this season of dance?

Whether it’s improving technique, building confidence, or simply showing up and trying, we’re here to support every dancer’s journey.

Put your goal into action and inspire others through sharing your ideas on the stage! There will be sticky notes and pens available in both lobbies, get creative! 💫🌟

Our studio will be taking a little holiday break to sip cocoa, recharge, and spend time with loved ones.

✨ We will be closed from December 22 through January 3.
✨ Classes resume on January 5 — and we can’t wait to dance into the new year with you!

We hope your holiday season is filled with joy, sparkle, and LOTS of love and warmth.
