Yoga Nidra is often presented as a rest practice, and yes, it can be profoundly restorative, but that’s only the outer doorway.

At a deeper level, Yoga Nidra is a yogic technology for entering the subtle mind, where samskaras, unconscious impressions, emotional residues, and karmic patterns are held. It works in the liminal space between waking and sleeping, where the conscious mind softens and deeper layers of awareness become accessible.

iRest grew from Yoga Nidra and offers a beautiful, trauma-sensitive, research-informed pathway for meeting sensation, emotion, belief, memory, and identity with compassion and choice.

Yoga Nidra helps us enter the inner archives.
iRest helps us stay present with what we discover.

For advanced trainings and sincere seekers, both are essential because spiritual practice isn’t only about feeling peaceful. It’s about learning how the mind is shaped, how the nervous system protects, how samskaras move through the body, and how awareness can hold it all without fear.

- Yoga Nidra clears the inner field.
- iRest supports integration.
- Together, they become a profound path of healing, subtle perception, and awakening.

Swipe through for a closer look at what this practice is actually doing.

Gentle yoga draws a particular kind of student.

Someone thoughtful enough to understand that slowing down takes real discipline. Someone who wants to teach with more range, serve a wider population, or learn to extend the same care to themselves that they offer everyone else.

These are a few of the reasons our students chose the Hatha Gentle path. What strikes us every time is how much intention sits behind each one.

Our programs are open to practitioners at every stage. Link in bio to learn more.

Before the new week begins, take a moment to look back.

Notice what mental pattern kept returning. What thought repeated itself. Whether you gave it energy or whether it pulled energy from you. Whether it helped you respond or whether it made you react.

If you want to go deeper, ask what that pattern was actually protecting.

And deeper still: what are you ready to stop feeding?

Sit with that before Sunday ends.

One of the greatest strengths of advanced yoga training is strong mentoring.

In classical yoga, learning was relational. The teacher did not simply transmit information. They shaped perception, challenged assumptions, and helped the student mature in discernment.

In modern settings, it is easy to collect trainings and still feel alone in the complexity of teaching real human beings. Mentoring bridges that gap. It offers reflection, accountability, and philosophical depth. It strengthens your clinical eye while sharpening your language and intuition.

If you are serious about becoming a strong practitioner and a responsible teacher, mentoring is not optional.

Save this post and bring the questions on slide 8 into your next self-study session. Your growth deserves that level of attention.

T.K.V. Desikachar spent decades refining his father's teachings into something deeply personal and therapeutic. A yoga shaped around the individual rather than the individual shaped around yoga.

His work reminded us that the measure of practice is never the posture. It is the quality of attention, the quality of relationship, the quality of presence a practitioner brings into ordinary life.

That is what we are building toward here. Not performance but transformation that shows up in how we breathe, how we listen, how we teach, and how we live.

What has your practice changed in you lately, not on the mat, but off it?

Energy moves when the body listens.

These micro-practices speak directly to the chakras through sensation, breath, and simple ritual. No mystique needed. Just presence, curiosity, and a little discipline.

Use one when you wake, one before sleep, or thread them into your classes as subtle medicine for the nervous system and the subtle body.

Tiny rituals. Big remembrance.

Save this carousel to return to when your energy needs tuning or your teaching needs fresh inspiration.

Teaching becomes art when your class has a clear spine of intention that everyone in the room can feel.

These themes give you direction for sequencing, precise cueing, and a deeper reason for why you are choosing each pose. They help your students experience more than “hips and hamstrings” and invite them into nervous system health, functional strength, and subtle awareness.

You can take one theme for a whole class, or weave several over a month into a mini-series for your community.

Good teaching is not about making things complicated. It is about knowing where you are leading people and why.

Save this post for your class planning, mentorship calls, and those moments when you want fresh inspiration that still feels grounded and intelligent.

There is a quiet part of yoga that often gets skipped.

Not because it isn’t important, but because it isn’t as visible.

The Yamas are often translated as restraints, but are really about learning how to guide yourself.

You are not meant to shut down your impulses or deny your humanity. You are learning to notice them, pause, and choose how you want to move rather than react automatically.

The Yamas remind us in class where you feel the urge to push harder and instead choose to listen. It is the moment you notice comparison and come back to your own body. It is the moment you realize you are tired and allow yourself to rest.

Non-harm becomes something you live, not just something you believe in. Truth becomes something you practice inwardly, not just something you speak outwardly. You begin to notice where you take more than you need, where you push beyond what is supportive, where you disconnect from yourself.

This is where yoga becomes real and lived.
Which Yama is calling you this week? Save this for your next class.

Most modern chakra talk is descriptive: colors, traits, “balanced” or “blocked.”

Ta***ic chakra practice is different. It’s practical. It’s experiential. It treats the chakras like inner portals, places where you can intentionally install a frequency through mantra and stabilize it through attention. Add yantra, and the practice gets even more precise, like sound taking shape inside you.

If you want a simple entry point, try HREEM (Hrīṁ), a Sri Vidya seed mantra often associated with Devi. I use it as a way to gather scattered energy and create from the inside out.

Try this tonight (5 minutes):

Inhale gently.
Exhale chant: HREEM
Let it be smooth and steady. No strain.
Afterward, sit quietly and imagine a tiny point of light at the heart. Let the sound rest there.

Ask yourself:
“What wants to be created through me that is true?”

What are you creating? Comment below

Teaching is an art of small shifts. ✨

A tiny variation can awaken an entire pathway, turning a routine movement into a profound discovery. These 10 “”freshened”” asanas are designed to help your students move past autopilot and back into their bodies.

Try these in your next sequence and feel how curiosity becomes medicine.

Save these variations for your next class planning session.
