Encinitas West African Dance

Our fundraiser class for Adena Murrey raised $600!! Thank you everyone for turning up and donating extra and donating even when you couldn’t be there in person. I knew I was having fun during class but when I reviewed our videos, there was so much LAUGHTER! This is what we needed today- for ourselves, for Adena and for her mom Diane. Thank you to Sister Dele from for teaching a great class!!

This Sunday, May 31, we dance for Diane‘s daughter Adena. It’s not just a fundraiser- we’ll raise the vibrations for her healing and recovery from brain surgery. 11am at Dance North County, 535 Encinitas Blvd, 92024. Class will be led by Dele Husbands of .

Next class is May 31 @ 11am @ Dance North County! Dele from laughs a lot during class, keeps it light hearted, and is our cheerleader. She calls us out if we look funny and she makes us better. That is the point of class. 1. Laugh in community 2. Become better at living on earth.

Pre-2020 our classes were always on Fridays. Remember that?!? Then the studio became unavailable so we switched. It’s so fun to end the work week exhausted and drained, then be re-energized by the dance and music, and remember why you’re alive in the first place. You’re not alive to be a cog in the capitalist machine. You deserve to dance. Bring the kids- they can dance or chill on the sidelines. There is plenty of seating.

Dele is known for “thorough” warm-ups. 🤣 Be ready to sweat! FRIDAY MAY 15 @ 7pm and SUNDAY MAY 31 @ 11am. Both classes are all levels, $20 and at Dance North County, 535 Encinitas Blvd, 92024.
