I’m sharing this because I believe everyone who dances should dance for themselves.
Don’t pay attention to those who don’t understand the art we are creating. Dance is more than movement—it is an expression of our body, our heart, and our soul.
Dance is powerful. It is expressive. It is a journey that can be difficult to explain to someone who has never experienced the feeling of losing themselves in the music and finding freedom through movement. It doesn’t always have to tell a story, sometimes it is just movement.
If people enjoy your journey, celebrate it with you, and understand your passion—wonderful! And if they don’t, that’s okay too.
You don’t dance to please everyone. You dance because it is part of who you are.
So keep dancing. Keep creating. Keep expressing yourself. And whatever you do, don’t let anyone extinguish your flame.
Dance for yourself. Dance from your heart. Dance because you can.
