June Athlete of the Month: Morgan Ge**er
Where are you from?
Lima, Ohio
When did you become a member of Crossfit?
July 2019
What do you do when youāre not at CrossFit?
Iām the Patient Access Supervisor at Integris Heart & Vascular, a coachās wife and a dog mom to Scarlett and Pinto. I love spending time with my husband, family, and my two nephews. Youāll usually find me relaxing at home with a good book or show.
What would your perfect WOD look like?
A good mix of gymnastics, barbell work, and just enough cardio to keep it interesting. Give me pull-ups, bar muscle-ups, handstand walks, double unders, cleans, snatches, box jump overs, and rowing, and Iām happy. Bonus points if thereās not a ton of running involved.
What is one thing in CrossFit that you never thought youād be able to do?
Bar muscle-ups. They taught me that consistency pays off and that some goals just take a little longer than others.
What motivates you during a workout?
The people. Thereās something special about being surrounded by others who push you to be better. The encouragement, accountability, and community keep me coming back every day.
Whatās something we may not know about you?
Iām an identical twin, and my nephews call me āMomo.ā I also collect elephants in memory of my grandpa, which has become one of my favorite ways to keep his memory close, hints to my elephant tattoo.
What advice would you give someone just starting?
Donāt compare your beginning to someone elseās middle. Everyone starts somewhere. Show up, be consistent, trust the process, and celebrate the small wins along the way. They add up faster than you think.
What is one goal you have for yourself in CrossFit?
To keep getting stronger, stay healthy, and continue challenging myself both physically and mentally while having fun doing it.
