🎓 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🎀📣
Olivia Barber

1️⃣ What is one memory from your high school cheer journey that you will never forget?

Although I have so many, my favorite would have to be competing at our UIL competition for the last time. Competition is never easy and is an extremely long process. The countless hours spent perfecting signs, motions, and flags is so intense. It’s something we work so hard for every year, and something I love doing, so the last time was very bittersweet. Hugging my best friends before we were even off of the mat will always be such a special memory of mine. In that moment I forgot about how hard the process was to get there, but how thankful I was to have gone through it.

2️⃣ How has being part of this program shaped who you are today?

Being apart of this program has shaped me in numerous ways, more ways than I thought would ever be possible. One of the most significant ways this program has shaped me is by teaching me to always put my best foot forward. Something that has been instilled in me each and every day in this program is to beat yesterday. Your best isn’t always going to look the same but what matters is that you do better than the previous day.

3️⃣ Who on the team made the biggest impact on you, and why?

Each person on the team has made their own impact on me, but the person that has made the most significant impact is Lexi. Since freshman year, Lexi and I have been in the same stunt group. It has definitely not always been easy, but she has always stuck by my side. Recently, she signed to cheer at her dream school and I could not be more proud of her. I’ve gotten to see her hard work, determination, and love for cheer pay off. She’s taught me to go after what I want and never hold back. Lexi has taught me how to lead by example and with love. She has taught me to believe in myself and always look to God. There are far more ways that Lexi has impacted me and I will forever be grateful for her!!

4️⃣ What advice would you give to the younger girls who will continue the legacy after you graduate?

Advice that I would have to give to the younger girls is to really soak in every moment because it goes by so much quicker than you think. I know they’ve heard it before, but it is so so true. Also, support each other, you can’t do it alone. Always stay positive. Positivity and determination is what can drive a team to success. Be there and absolutely always show up for one another!

Olivia will attend Oklahoma University (Boomer Sooner!) and major in Nursing! We love you Livi and are so thankful you were a part of our program! ❤️

1️⃣ What is one memory from your high school cheer journey that you will never forget?
I would have to say getting top ten at competition last year. There’s something so rewarding about seeing all your hard work pay off. Of course getting top ten was so exciting for me, but what honestly filled me more was how proud of my team I was. There’s something special about pouring into people every day. Seeing them work really hard towards something, spending countless hours watching film and trying to reach perfection. Being able to celebrate this achievement with them and seeing them realize that their hard work paid off was the sweetest gift. In this moment, the 5 full out practices and hardships we faced along the way were so worth it.

2️⃣ How has being part of this program shaped who you are today?
Being apart of this program has taught me so much. I have learned what it looks like to truly lead those around me in a positive direction in the face of adversity. I have learned what it looks like to be disciplined and the importance of showing up for not only yourself but more importantly for your teammates. I have learned what it looks like to serve others and how to adapt my own leadership to better serve those around me who may need a different approach. My time in this program has transformed my leadership and made me a better person.

3️⃣ Who on the team made the biggest impact on you, and why?
It is so difficult to just pick one person. Each girl in the gym has left an impact on me that I will never forget. They are each unique and talented in their own ways and they have taught me so much. If I had to pick just one person, it would be Lexi. Lexi has been my partner in crime for the past two years. Together we have grown and watched each other become the people we are today. We have been through ups and downs and leaned on each other everyday. She listens to me well and has shown me what true passion looks like. She has taught me what it looks like to wholeheartedly go after what you want and not look back. Through countless extra hours in the gym and all the behind the scenes work, it is evident that Lexi puts others before herself and seeks to find the best in them. She truly wants the best for those around her and will do just about anything for her teammates. Lexi has supported me in all aspects of my life and the care she has for those around her is inspiring. The time Lexi and I have spent together is special, and the impact she has made on me is something that will be with me forever! There’s no one else I could’ve wished to be by my side. She’s the best and I’m so grateful!!! I know she will touch many people in her next chapter, just like she did for me and so many others!

4️⃣ What advice would you give to the younger girls who will continue the legacy after you graduate?
You can’t do it alone. Cheerleading is a team sport. Every single girl in the gym serves a purpose towards your success or failure. A positive relationship between each girl in the gym is necessary. If they trust each other and feel supported, they are more likely to give more effort and perform at a higher level. It is crucial to speak positivity to your teammates and let them know that their role matters. Make them feel seen and valued so that you can encourage them and push them to perform at the level needed to reach your goal. Everyone serves a purpose, and everyone is needed. Let them know that you believe in them so that they can belive in themselves. Belief drives Confidence, Confidence drives effort, Effort drives performance.

Katy is EHS class of 2026 Valedictorian! She plans to attend the University of Arkansas to Major in Communication Sciences and Disorders. We love you Katy and are indebted to your devotion to our team!

🎓 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🎀📣
Raegan Davis

1️⃣ What is one memory from your high school journey that you will never forget?
⤷ My most recent memory from cheer would have to be from tryout week. Thursday on mock tryouts, the seniors had an opportunity to watch all of the girls trying out perform all their material. Watching all of the girls felt like a very full circle moment; seeing them grow from the cheerleaders they were at the beginning of this season to who they are now.

2️⃣ How has being part of this program shaped who you are today?
⤷ This program has given me all my best friends and also given me the opportunity to continue cheering in college. I wouldn’t say the program shaped me, but Todd did. She has pushed not just myself but the whole team to become better people, in and out of the cheer gym. She’s taught us things are earned not given, to be better than you were the day before, and most importantly; always keep your eyes up.

3️⃣ Who on the team made the biggest impact on you, and why?
⤷ My stunt group; Lynlie, Marley, and Mackenzie are the ones who have had the biggest impact in my Ennis Cheer journey. My junior season I was injured and couldn’t stunt for over 6 months, so when it came time for me to start stunting again it was important. We randomly put ourselves together one day and after that we never left each other’s side. They are the ones who made me fall in love with cheer all over again. It was beyond a blessing to have them as my last stunt group. No amount of words can express how grateful I am for them and how much love I have for these 3 girls.

4️⃣ What advice would you give to the younger girls who will continue the legacy after you graduate?
⤷ My best advice is to cherish every moment you have and take every opportunity you can. Time truly flies by faster than you think and it’ll be over in the blink of an eye. Most opportunities only come around once, it’s better to try than to wonder what would happen if you did nothing.

Raegan plans to attend UT Tyler in the Fall where she will cheer (Talons Up! 🦅) and major in Business. We love you Raegan! We will miss your presence in the gym so much! 🩷

Samira Reyes

1️⃣ What is one memory from your high school cheer journey that you will never forget?
I think it was when I went to my first cheerleading tryouts—knowing absolutely nothing and nobody—and was absolutely terrified because I didn’t speak the language. Yet, I loved that day, because that is where my journey within this wonderful program began, serving as a manager.

2️⃣ How has being part of this program shaped who you are today?
I proved to myself that it doesn’t matter where we come from or what language we speak; anything in this life can be achieved with God’s blessing. This program helped me realize just how far I can go and empowered me to overcome my fears.

3️⃣ Who on the team made the biggest impact on you, and why?
Without a doubt, it has been Tatum Woods and her family. From the very beginning, they made me feel like part of their lovely family. Our different languages never mattered when it came to growing fond of one another and understanding each other; they trained me to become part of this wonderful program and helped me succeed in the tryouts.

4️⃣ What advice would you give to the younger girls who will continue the legacy after you graduate?
Even though I couldn’t communicate much with them, I always witnessed their hard work during every practice and game. I am incredibly proud of them for all the growth I’ve seen this year; they get better every single day. I hope they never stop believing in themselves.

We are so thankful you joined our program a year ago, Sami! We are better because of your support! We love you! 🩷
