Well said! Take a moment to review these safety tips to help ensure you have a fun and safe day celebrating the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence

As we celebrate Independence Day and America's 250th Birthday, the Level Plains Police Department encourages everyone to celebrate safely, responsibly, and with consideration for those around you.

Please remember:

Use fireworks only where they are permitted and always follow local laws and the manufacturer's safety instructions.
Never allow young children to handle fireworks, and always keep a safe distance from anyone lighting them.
Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby in case of an emergency.
Be respectful of your neighbors by celebrating responsibly and avoiding the use of fireworks in areas where they are prohibited.
Never throw used fireworks directly into the trash. Allow them to cool completely, then soak them in a bucket of water for several hours (or overnight). Once they are fully soaked and cooled, place them in a trash bag before disposing of them.

A safe celebration is everyone's responsibility. By using fireworks responsibly and respecting those around you, we can all enjoy a memorable and safe Fourth of July.

Want to see an amazing fireworks display on the Fourth? Join us at Fireworks in the Park at Level Plains Park on Saturday, July 4, beginning at 4:00 PM. Enjoy live entertainment, delicious food vendors, family activities, and help us celebrate America's 250th Birthday! Then, if you choose to celebrate at home afterward, please remember to use fireworks safely, legally, and responsibly.

We look forward to celebrating with you!
