Yesterday’s 5th grade Enumclaw Jr. Hornets game was supposed to be about the excitement of the first game of the season — the nerves, the cheering, the touchdowns, and watching these boys take the field after working so hard.
Instead, the game ended with one of our young athletes suffering a serious injury during the final play and being airlifted to Harborview.
It was one of the most terrifying moments many of us have ever experienced on the Jr. Hornets fields. His teammates were scared. The families were scared. In that moment, football didn’t matter anymore. All that mattered was making sure he was okay. In a quiet stadium both sides of the ball came together in heightened emotions everyone stood united in support of him asking for prayed some more. 🙏🏻
Thankfully, after regaining movement and receiving reassuring imaging results, this brave young athlete was cleared to go home. 🙏🏻❤️
While we are incredibly grateful for this positive news, the emergency airlift and medical care have created a significant financial burden for his family. They should be able to focus on their son, his recovery, and being together — not on the expenses from one of the most frightening experiences of their lives.
Please consider helping us surround this family with the same support, love, and prayers that filled the field yesterday. Every donation helps, and sharing this link and continuing to pray for this brave young athlete and his family means just as much.
Yesterday reminded us that these boys are more than teammates. They are friends, they are each other’s people, and they are family.
One team. One family. ❤️🐝🏈 https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-cover-emergency-airlift-for-a-jr-hornet-football-playe?utm_campaign=natman_sharesheet_dash&utm_medium=customer&ts=1789334856&utm_source=native_options
