After having a much needed few weeks off from racing, Ryan and Penny looked to get back into action at Star Speedway to begin the late stage of the 2026 points season for Stuart Racing. After starting this Bumpy's Auto Slingshot Feature on the outside pole, Ryan would get a bit too rambunctious with the throttle in the opening laps while running on the outside. Ryan would gather himself and get the #57 Chevy pointed ahead again, but not before loosing time and falling back a few positions. There would be a couple cautions in this one in the first 5 laps where Ryan would have a restart on the inside, and then again on the outside in the following one. Contact with another car in turn 2 after the last restart would cause Ryan to be pointed at the back stretch tires while also completely destroying the Left Rear tire making a green flag pitstop immediately required to be changed. Ryan would keep the car going in an effort to not bring out a caution, and would limp back into the pit area for a tire change to get a spare put on. A massive thanks to one of our advertising partners, Darryl Quinlan of Quinlan Electric for the help. The tire change was quick, but because of Star Speedway's policy on returning to the field only under caution laps, Ryan would be unable to rejoin the race as the rest of the Feature would go green to the checkers. Ryan would suffer his 2nd DNF of the season due to the contact and pitting, and would be credited a P10 finish. A tough one to take as this one took the last bit of a chance out of the team's hopes to perhaps sneak up and snag 5th in the points standings now with only 3 races remaining in the season. In a bright spot, the only damage (other than a loss of a brand new LR tire) was cosmetic to the left rear corner and the team would not have to spend much time getting the car ready for the next race, which was at Oxford Plains Speedway a couple days later on Monday, 9/7, Labor Day.
