The 2026-2027 Erie Dance Team!

04/20/2026

Please welcome Coach Dylann to the EDT team!

A little about Dylann:

I’ve been dancing my whole life, starting out at a studio, then dancing on my middle school drill team in Texas. After moving back to Colorado, I was on my high school Poms team for all four years. Currently, I am finishing up my bachelor’s in accounting at MSU. Outside of school I love doing permanent jewelry and spending time with my friends and family! I am so excited for this season!

Fav EDT Memory: My favorite EDT memory was the homecoming football game this year.

Advice for new team members: My advice to new team members would be that time flies so enjoy your time on the team and keep your head high no matter what.

Plans for next year: My future plans are to attend the University of Kansas to study Nursing.

Senior Captain Maggie Deakin🧡

Favorite memory: The week leading up to state this past season, we all came together, worked really hard in and out of practice, and were so supportive of each other. Everyone understood exactly what needed to be done and I was so proud of our commitment. That was by far my favorite part of this season, but also my entire Erie dance team experience. All I could feel from everyone was love for dance, support for one another, and pride to wear Erie on our chest.

Advice for new team members: Always lead with confidence. Even if you’re unsure, keep your chin up and never talk down on yourself. Having the perseverance to continue even when things get hard will make the end result so much better. Learning to be a reliable teammate is the best lesson. So remember that consistency is so important, showing up and giving your all even on hard days, owning your mistakes and growing from them will make the difference. Never forget to cheer on your team and celebrate their successes. The wins feel so much better when you seriously love your team, leave it all on the floor.

Plans for next year: Next year I will be attending University of Northern Colorado, where I will be majoring in political science as well as dancing as a Sugar Bear!

Fav EDT Memory: My favorite EDT memory is from this year when we were standing backstage before performing in semi-finals at nationals for pom! We knew this pom division was difficult but it made no difference to us. As we made our circle to say our final words, there was truly something different in the air. The love, the commitment, and the resilience my teammates and I had was not something you could only see but feel. I knew in that moment regardless of what the results said, we won. We won something with a greater value than a trophy could ever hold.

Advice for new team members: My advice for new team members would be to trust the process. Things will be hard, results won’t go the way you expect. On those days it is important to remain patient and believe in yourself. Find your why. Continue reminding yourself that you have your best friends right next to you throughout the whole process and coaches who want you to develop as athletes, students, and people. You won’t see progress some days, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Trust the process and never stop believing in yourself, your teammates, and this program!

Plans for next year: Next year I will be attending Colorado State University and majoring in Health and Exercise Science. I will be trying out for the Golden Poms!
