This page is here as a warning to anyone considering Tim Lucas as a teacher. He is a great martial artist. His character is another story.

VISION : To get you to sign a 1 or 3 year contract and use it as leverage when you decide that I am a scam artist.

Another satisfied customer! Tim is still up to his old tricks. Never pay him large sums of money in advance. Never fall for his "memberships" or "contracts". Only liable for services rendered in Pennsylvania.

I worked for Tim Lucas as an instructor for around 3 or 4 years. I began taking lessons from him while his place was called The Indonesian School Of Martial Arts. He taught Indonesian Silat. 8 months into my lessons he started paying Premier Martial Arts to use their name and logo and began teaching "Krav Maga" because Indonesian Silat was not selling. He travelled to Tennessee a couple weekends and went to some Krav Maga seminar classes, but mostly went to classes on how to sell martial arts. They gave him a Krav Maga curriculum to follow. He would often stray from it and teach Silat. I would ask him what we were going to teach and he would show me YouTube videos that he found to learn actual Krav Maga. When asked about having a lack of credentials he responded with something about no one ever actually asking to see any. Think he said he had some certification certificate or something from Premier. So in short Tim Lucas knows martial arts and self defense. He's an alright teacher. He does not have years of guided training in Krav Maga. So if you are dead set in learning Israeli Krav Maga and are thinking about Erie Krav Maga...you should know this.

About right

Tim Lucas is hosting a Health Fair. How does a man with a high school diploma who can barely spell and writes like a middle schooler become a health expert?
Once I came to a class that Tim Lucas was teaching. He was wearing short sleeves and was practicing with and demonstrating on all of the other students. I noticed that he had ringworm on his right forearm. I informed him and told him to get antifungal creme and cover it. He had no idea what it was. Instead he went home and put raw garlic on it. He wrapped it and fell asleep. He burned his skin and likely still has the scar. Never used any antifungal creme. Luckily no one else got ringworm from him.
The event is mostly about trying to sell Shaklee products. It is a pyramid scheme that isn't a pyramid scheme because you don't have to buy products up front. Otherwise it's a pyramid scheme. Every person who becomes a member and buys product tries to get others to do the same and Tim collects a profit.

WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not participate in Tim Lucas' Premier Martial Arts Break-A-Thon! He hands out donation sheets and asks students to raise money for the Premier Kid's Foundation so that under privileged kids could learn martial arts on a scholarship. What he really does is pocket the money. He has never allowed an under privileged kid to attend his school on scholarship. He will offer a discount to get you to join his school, but it has nothing to do with generosity. He also says that the student who raises the most money will win a samurai sword and then presents the winners with practice/toy swords...more cash in his pockets. SCAM!!!

Do not be deceived by words like "Legal Binding Contract" and "You made a commitment"! In Pennsylvania these contracts hold little to no weight because you are only responsible for services rendered. What does it mean when a business owner has you sign an unenforceable contract yet tells you that it is legally binding and forces you to stay, quit and continued to get charged or pay a half price buyout despite knowing this? It means that they are dishonest and in it for the money.
