Build Better Fields

We have some disappointing news to end the summer with. The Belle Valley Field will be out of commission the rest of the year. July 28th there was a bad storm that flooded the neighborhood into the playground sending wood chips into the storm sewer creating a river down to the field. You can see the wood chips everywhere and the Duraedge infield completely washed out. While we navigated how to repair it with Millcreek Township and Millcreek Township School District, it happened again during last week’s storm. We obviously cannot put funds into the field to repair it when there clearly is an overarching problem here that will continue to happen. We will remain in communication with the School District and Township to see what can be done but until then, baseball and softball at Belle Valley is cancelled for the remainder of the year. We will reposition teams to our other fields while this gets figured out.

We have received donations from the Ochs, Eisenman, and Lucas families in honor of Jim Travers Jr. Our prayers, condolences, and thoughts are with the entire Travers family. Very thoughtful to think of us.

We are breaking ground at Sam Jethroe on August 31st! We are actively seeking organizations that need field time on a full size field, please DM if interested.

We unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s ribbon cutting and games. Too bad out for the kids to be playing in this. Stay tuned for the reschedule.

ANNOUNCEMENT! The small field at Hillside Park is done and the Mayor will be doing a ribbon cutting this Thursday (tomorrow) at 4pm. We will be dedicating the scoreboard as well as the field name. There will be two baseball games played and a food truck courtesy of MP Coney Island! Would love to see all the sponsors that can make it for proper recognition!

What an evening! Dicks Sporting Goods Foundation was a huge part of the first two fields and they are stepping up again for Hillside Park. They hosted a huge group of 50+ kids to their testing facility at the Millcreek Mall while they got to eat pizza and ice cream! Grand Slam is an understatement. Thank you!
