2024 Public Hunter Sight-in is open! We are open to the public from 8:00AM - 5:00PM Daily until November 3rd.
Due to the decrease of wildfire risk in our neighboring community, we will open the range for normal operations on Saturday August 10th at 2:00pm.
Please continue to use extreme caution and follow any other restrictions related to bans for surrounding areas to mitigate any potential fire risks.
-Parking will only be allowed on gravel surfaces, with no combustible vegetation growth that could be ignited by vehicle exhaust systems.
-Smoking allowed only in personal vehicles.
Members can check the GMSC Club calendar before visiting the range in case conditions change.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this range closure. This was a rare event, possible risks were minimal but real, and restrictions were necessary for the safety of the community and our club members.

Effective Immediately: The Range will be closed for use in accordance with the Level 2 fire restriction for the Town of Erie. Due to high fire danger we will be closing the range to all recreational and scheduled events at the Green Mill Sportsman's Club until the Level 2 fire restriction has been lifted.
From Erie PD August 1, 2024:
In consideration of the public health, safety and welfare, the chief of police (Town of Erie) has issued a level 2 fire restriction on August 1, 2024 at 1 p.m. prohibiting:
-Building, maintaining, attending or using an open fire, campfire, or stove fire on private and public lands. This includes charcoal grills and barbecues, coal and wood burning stoves and sheepherder's stoves and includes use in developed camping and picnic grounds.
-Fireworks sales, use, and possession, including otherwise legal fireworks.
-Shooting or discharge of fi****ms for recreational purposes.
-Smoking, except in an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least ten feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials.
-Operating a chainsaw without a USDA or SAE approved spark arrester properly installed and in effective working order, a chemical pressurized fire extinguisher kept with the operator and one round point shovel with an overall length of at least 35 inches readily available for use.
-Using an explosive of doing any kind of blasting work. This includes but is not limited to fuses or blasting caps, fireworks, rockets, exploding targets, and tracers or incendiary ammunition.
-Welding or operating acetylene or other torch with open flame outdoors.
-Possessing or using a motor vehicle off established roads, motorized trails or established parking areas, except when parking in an area devoid of vegetation within 10 feet of the vehicle.
Chief Mathis asks all residents and visitors in Erie to use extreme caution with anything that could potentially cause a spark, flame, or fire.
When the conditions dictate that the public health, safety and welfare is no longer in danger, the chief of police shall lift the fire restriction.
