Essex Killer Bees AAU Basketball

We won't be having any AAU Teams for the Spring 2025 Season. I wanted to post because we've had many teams reach out about games and tournaments. It's sad for this to come to an end, but hopefully there will be a new Essex Girls AAU Basketball Option at some point in the future. We had a great run over the past few years and really enjoyed playing so many different teams from around Vermont and New England. Hope you all have a great 2025 AAU season!

Our Essex Girls finished the Champlain Shootout this past weekend with a 5-2 record. We had a great mix of returning varsity players, JV players and incoming freshman. We also had a player that’s been cut from the JV team the last couple years and still shows up to fight for a chance to play. Don’t be mislead by our players holding up the W’s in one of the pictures. We didn’t win the Shootout, but after going 0-5 last year, it sure felt like we did

We finished off the AAU Baksetball season with our traditional trip to Maine with some fun on the court and even more fun off the court. Also a few picture mixed in of our 8th grade team during the Zero Gravity Tournament a few weeks back at St. Mikes. Next up for our high school players is the Champlain Shootout on June 29th/30th.

Quick team picture after the Fury Basketball Club Rumble at the Border Tournament this weekend. We may have had a slow start to the weekend, but we finished strong after shaking off some rust. With so many busy schedules, this team doesn’t get together as often as years past, but such a fun group when they do.

Our Essex Girls continue to work hard despite their own school district giving their gym time to teams from out of town. At least they haven’t been kicked off the outdoor courts…yet 😂🏀

Our Essex girls back on the court this past weekend for the Vergennes Vipers Girls' Basketball Tournament. We really enjoy tournaments put on by all different organizations within Vermont. Things we liked about this tournament were that it was all under one roof, concessions on-site, hardwood floors for all games, and everything running on time.

We’re Essex Girls Basketball Players, of course we practice in the driveway while teams from other towns use our school gyms every night of the week. 😂⛹️‍♀️🏀

Our Essex 8th Grade Girls battled hard today at their first AAU Baketball Tournament of the season. We played a couple tough teams that forced us to develop our skills and confidence. We also only needed one ice pack today…way under our daily tournament average 😂. Looking forward to the Vergennes Vipers Girls' Basketball Tournament in 2 weeks!

“We’re girls basketball players, of course the only gym time we can get is in the storeroom/attic/food pantry at our local church” 😂

Interesting start to the spring season for our Essex 8th Grade Girls. Looking forward to our first tournament this weekend!

A few months into the season and these 3 finally got meaningful minutes together on the court. They have great chemistry and pulled the team out of a rut on Monday Night for the win.

One of our Killer Bees players, Ashtin Stearns, has been nominated for Varsity Insider Athlete of the Week! Ashtin also put in work with Blueprint Basketball this past fall.
