We’re kicking off our Thanksgiving Day festivities with a Turkey 🦃 Trot, getting a little sweat and a lot of fun in before the rest of the day’s celebrations.

In recognition of Men’s Mental Health Awareness Day, 802 athletes tackled ‘Seek Help,’ a partner WOD designed by Jason Larocque, a CrossFit Coach at CrossFit Variance Plus in Beverly, MA and Associate Principal at an all-boys middle school.

Larocque’s 18 years of experience working with these middle-schoolers, combined with his own personal experiences, led him to recognize just how difficult it can be for many boys and men to share their struggles. 

“We often don’t allow men to be healthy with their emotions, and be vulnerable, and ask for help,” he said. 

All of this is why Larocque decided to start raising money each November for Movember, the annual event best known as the month men grow out mustaches. It’s a time to raise awareness for mental and physical health challenges that are predominantly specific to men.

“There are a whole host of men walking around each day with little to no help or resources because they just don’t know how to ask for it,” he said.

Our Foundations program underscores our commitment to creating a sense of community from Day 1️⃣, using a small group environment and one-on-one coaching to help each athlete gain familiarity with the movements and methodology of CrossFit.

You’ll start with small group classes, with focused attention and guidance through the essentials of CrossFit, proper techniques, and even mini workouts that will help you gain familiarity with the flow our classes, all while our coaches get to know you and your goals.

The L1 course is not just for those looking to be a CrossFit coach. It offers valuable knowledge for anyone passionate about health and fitness, regardless of their fitness level or abilities.

After completing the sessions, you’ll walk away with insights on proper form, underlying methodologies and principles of the movements that you complete on a weekly basis, all of which serve to make you a better, more well-rounded athlete.

Saturday plans? We’ve got them! 🎃 Join us this Saturday, 10/26, for our 802 Halloween WOD, Trunk or Treat & Pancake Potluck! Here’s what you need to know:

💪🏼Best WOD of the week: happening at the usual time.

🤸CrossFit Kids class: happening at 9:10am.

👻 Trunk or Treat/Pancake Potluck starting around 11am. $5 donation gets you breakfast, and if you want to add to the potluck please do!

🚗 If you want to decorate your trunk, just show up! The more the merrier: family members welcome too!
