Sheldon High School has a new boys golf coach! He is aiming for a player meet and greet on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at lunch. Please welcome Troy Price to the Irish!

Short Autobiography from Troy Price...
I was born in Portland Oregon, and graduated from Willamette High school in 1984. I worked for Albertson for 20 years and the Oregon Army National Guard for 15 years. In 1999, I enrolled at LCC and received an AS in business and computer science, transferred to the U of O in 2000 and graduated with BS in business administration, sports marketing, and a minor in computer science in 2002. I started playing golf with squad members from the Army in the mid ninety’s. So of course, after the U of O, I decided to become a golf professional. I moved to San Jose CA in 2004 and enrolled into the PGA working for Mariner’s Point just outside San Francisco. One year later I became the Director of Instruction at Fremont Golf Course, Fremont CA. As Director of Instruction, I conducted over two hundred junior camps and gave over 20,000 junior lessons ages 8-17 from 2005 – 2011. I became a Class A Member in Professional Golfers Association 2009. I have 5 years’ experience as head coach for high school golf teams with individuals or the team competing at state championships. I am super thrilled to be an official member of The Irish. As your boys head golf coach, I will bring excitement to the golf game.

Sheldon High School, please welcome Weston Hudson, the new Head Coach of the boys tennis program! Weston recently relocated from Los Angeles to Eugene and excited about his new home. Weston’s journey with the sport began in West Texas when he picked up a racquet at 11 years old and fell in love with the game. By high school, he was competing across the state, earning a top-100 junior ranking, winning dozens of USTA tournaments, and even taking down the defending state champion his senior year.

After high school, Weston followed a unique path—diving into the arts, teaching, and personal development. Along the way, he sharpened his communication skills and deepened his understanding of human performance, mindset, and motivation. Years later, he returned to competitive tennis, earning spots on two national teams in 2015 and 2016, including competing at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells Nationals Tournament.

For the past decade, Weston has coached players of all ages and levels, helping them elevate their technique, strategy, and confidence. His coaching philosophy blends the body, mind, and spirit of the athlete—because he believes the best tennis isn’t just about strokes, but about focus, resilience, and belief.

Weston is excited to bring that energy to Sheldon: building strong team culture, developing complete athletes, and inspiring players to grow both on and off the court. Here’s to a season of heart, excellence, and proud Irish tennis. ☘️🎾

Let’s go, Sheldon!
