Odell Lake Fishing Report 7-8-26

Weather this weeks Forecast is Going to be The low in the mid 40’s and highs in the 70’s Wind looks like 4-9 from W &NW .

Water Temp 59-62 Surface Temp.

It’s a little late for a jig bite but They have been catching Kokanee on Jigs from Princess Creek to the West Bay. Also there has been some fish being caught at the view point. Also there has been some schools hanging on the Bottom .

Diamond Dusk Jigs in 1/2 - 3/4oz in orange/ white has been very good. I would also use pink/white & Orange/white. With the Fish being on the bottom 90-125ft . Also suspended fish 50-75.

With fishing with Jig you need to use scented corn . You can use Anise & tuna , Garlic or your Special recipe.

This week the Trolling Bite has been good from Burly point to Princess creek. Diamond Dust flasher or Arrow Flash (when Fishing Deep try a Gold Flasher) with a DJ’s Hoochie on a downrigger 50-125ft . Long Lining with Ford fender with a DJ Kokanee ring. Run that about 30-50ft Trolling at 1.2mph

The Kokanee on the West End seem to be smaller and going east they seemed bigger.

The Mackinaw fishing has been good some have been jigging 2-3oz P-Line Laser Minnow and there has been a good number of mackinaw caught trolling so far. Using Silver Hoards, Kwikfish, & Rapala’s. Speed 2.0-2.9mph depending on what plug .

Odell Lake Fishing Report - July 1, 2026

Hi Everyone,

Here’s the latest fishing report for Odell Lake as of July 1, 2026:

**Weather Forecast:**
- Lows in the 30s and highs in the 60s-70s.
- Winds from the NW at 4-9 mph.

**Water Temperature:**
- Surface temperature is between 59-62°F.

**Fishing Conditions:**
Fishing may be a bit slower due to the full moon, but it should improve as the moon phase changes.

**Jig Fishing:**
While it’s a little late for a jig bite, Kokanee are being caught on jigs from Princess Creek to West Bay, with some success at the viewpoint as well. Schools of fish are also hanging on the bottom.
- Recommended jigs: Diamond Dusk Jigs in 1/2 - 3/4 oz in orange/white, pink/white, and orange/white.
- Target depths: 90-125 ft for bottom fish and 50-75 ft for suspended fish.
- Use scented corn (Anise, tuna, garlic, or your special recipe) for better results.

**Trolling Bite:**
The trolling bite has been good from Burly Point to Princess Creek.
- Use Diamond Dust flasher or Arrow Flash with a DJ’s Hoochie on a downrigger at 50-125 ft.
- Long lining with a Ford fender and DJ Kokanee ring at 30-50 ft while trolling at 1.2 mph.

**Mackinaw Fishing:**
Mackinaw fishing has been productive, with some anglers jigging 2-3 oz P-Line Laser Minnows. Trolling has also yielded good catches using Silver Hoards, Kwikfish, and Rapalas at speeds of 2.0-2.9 mph, depending on the plug.

We fished extensively last week and encountered some challenging conditions due to wind and weather; nonetheless, the fishing results were good .
