I am currently working on a project at Trifoia that examines parenting strategies for parents who have experienced separation or divorce.
We are looking for a handful of parents to participate in individual interviews to evaluate the materials we are developing. During the interview, parents will provide feedback to the developers while exploring the resources under development. All responses are confidential.

Here at Trifoia, we build accessibility in everything we make. We understand the importance and value of designing learning experiences for every user, no matter what. When we think of disability, we usually consider visual, auditory, or motor skill disabilities. Did you know it goes way deeper than that? That you should consider accessibility for cognitive learning as well? Check out this article on building accessibility for users with ADHD! It’s informative and gives you a new perspective on users you wouldn’t normally consider.

Here are two excerpts from the introduction of Microsoft's recently released Inclusive Design for Cognition Guidebook:
"Microsoft launched the Inclusive Design Toolkit in 2015, a set of guidelines for building products that help people of all abilities realize their full potential. The toolkit is based on three principles:
1. Recognize exclusion
2. Learn from diversity
3. Solve for one, extend to many"
"This addition is a first step in addressing cognitive exclusion, which occurs when products don’t account for the different ways people perceive and understand the world around us."

This article describes some downsides to tutorials while pitching greater use of contextual help signals.
Downsides to tutorials: interrupt users, often no improvement to performance, and quickly forgotten.
"Contextual help signals can avoid these pitfalls but require unintrusive ways to activate," such as "coach marks, tooltips, and instructional overlays."
Onboarding Tutorials vs. Contextual Help
Tutorials interrupt users, don’t necessarily improve task performance, and are quickly forgotten. Contextual help signals can avoid these pitfalls but require unintrusive ways to activate.

This short article walks through the basics of design thinking (with helpful images). It defines each of these five steps:
1. Empathize - understand user needs
2. Define - develop a clear problem statement
3. Ideate - get creative with brainstorms, sketches, etc.
4. Prototype - create low-fidelity physical or digital prototypes
5. Test - test prototypes with users, get feedback, and repeat

Articulate has a great (and free) course on Black History Month. Check it out!
"The United States has formally recognized the importance of Black History for more than 100 years. What started as a weeklong observance in the early 1900s has blossomed into the month of events, activities, and celebrations we now see each February.
But how did we get here, and what does it mean to celebrate Black History? How do we reconcile America’s legacy of racism and oppression with its founding principles of freedom?"

Most of us are familiar with the concept that we train computer models with imperfect data. The author gives good examples of consequences that arise from this, along with potential remedies. They also emphasize that the output of human brains, just like machine learning, is based on the inputs.
