This year, we would like to define SeaKing with the following statement:
SEAKing is an eclectic group of individuals who are dedicated to giving back to the ultimate community, particularly in South Seattle. We are ultimate players who are passionate about learning, practicing, and supporting our teammates. SEAKing is open to all players who are driven to embrace these ideals; we strive to build
and sustain a culture that is inclusive, positive, and process-oriented. This Summer-Fall, we'll be traveling to 2 tournaments, participating in a local round robin, and competing in the USA Ultimate Club Series. While you're trying out for other club teams, you're welcome to attend Seaking practices. If you or someone you know is interested in playing with Seaking, please let us know either by showing up to practices or via email. CRISP
We recognize that living up to these values is a process itself. What counts is the conscious decision to work towards embodying these things. "Make the choice -- BE CRISP!"
-COMMUNITY: This sport is bigger than ourselves, and through our positions as members of SEAKing, we are driven to provide onto others. As team we strive to be a positive influence in our community, and engage with Southend Ultimate to providing opportunities to learn, play, and grow.
-RESILIENCE: If you're not failing, you're not trying. We find success in making the choice to focus on what we can control in the present moment. We hold ourselves accountable to each other by putting our process as priority, and maintaining a positive team culture through any any/all circumstance.
-INTEGRITY: We hold ourselves to a high moral standard -- a commitment to play "the right way". We embody the ideals of SOTG in the way we play, and show respect for ourselves, teammates, and opponents.
-SUPPORTIVE: We're there for each other, no matter what. We put a priority on a constructive process of building trust between our teammates throughout the course of our season. We create a strong bond knowing that we have each other's backs.
-PROGRESS: We want to get better, both as individuals, and as a collective. This includes how we play on the field, how we act as teammates on the sideline, and how we engage in our community. We expect everyone to give their best, and strive to improve the people around them.
