Scenes from a springtime walk 🌸🌞👟
I’d love to say it was discipline, a beautiful day, or the numerous well-documented health benefits that got me to go on a walk yesterday.
Honestly? It was Pokemon Go 🤷♀️
That silly lil app has gotten me outside in the fresh air when motivation was low more times than I can count, and I’m even friends with a few clients who also play.
Some days are just gonna be like that! I’m a big fan of the “do what you gotta do” approach to building a consistent movement habit, and if that means tricking yourself, gamifying your routines, or even building in a little treat from time to time— do it.
Your body will thank you 💪

It’s my birthday this week, life has been life-ing 🙃, and for both reasons I’m SO GLAD I’m heading off on a much needed vacation shortly. Thank you to all my clients for being so flexible and accommodating to allow this holiday to happen— you’re the best!

Welp, I mean to create a shiny year end wrap-up post but tbh, I just wasn’t feeling it. And that’s ok— a fitting tribute to a year in which I said “no thank you” in so many different ways, over and over again: happily, healthily, and heartily.
I was supposed to go out tonight but again, I just wasn’t feeling it. My evening walk was crisp, meditative, quiet…. perfect.
I hope your New Years Eve has been perfect, too, however you’re spending it.
May the incoming Year of the Horse be full of energy, strength, and resilience for us all ✨

❄️Winter Gym Reminders ❄️
As we shift into the season of Big Cold Wet Dark, here are a few quick housekeeping notes to keep everyone at Defiance Strength Studio healthy, happy, and strong all winter long:
💪 If you’re sick or still recovering from illness, please stay home. Not only does *your* body need the rest, but I’m a single income household and a one-woman show; I don’t get PTO 😬 (there are always masks available, btw- don’t be shy)
💪 Mud is cool and all but please clean your workout shoes before gym, especially if you wear them on trails or at the dog park. Socks-only workouts are ok too!
💪 Temps will drop (eventually?!?) and AM clients may need to plan a few extra minutes to scrape, warm up the car, and travel safely. As an ADHD girlie, I promise you’ll need more time than you think 🤣
