🥰Edgar is 2.5 years old
His senior mom arrived pregnant and gave birth to Edgar less than three months after her arrival. Edgar has only known safety, comfort, and love.
On a farm, he would have been removed from his mom at 6-8 months old. He likely would have spent time on a backgrounding operation where he was transitioned from an all pasture-based feed to a grain-based feed.
Eventually, he would have been shipped to a drylot, a feedlot housing thousands of animals in confinement. There, he would have been fed an overabundance of an unhealthy grain-based diet. After being fattened for a few months, he would be slaughtered at 24-26 months of age.
Edgar has now lived four months longer than he would have at most farms. We love you so much Edgar.
Rest well, Olive.
Celebrating Ella. Rest well, sweet girl. We'll run together again someday.
