We don't have to worry too much about the harmful rays of the sun during the winter months, unless you travel to the mountains. Every 1000 feet of elevation gain is a 2% increase in the intensity of the sun. If you go skiing on a blue-bird day you still need to apply sunscreen throughout the day.
