We just returned from Upper Bharkhu, Lower Bharkhu, Sole and Dhunche in Rasuwa, reaching as far as we could by road and on foot.

We met hundreds of families, women and children, and distributed our Dignity Boxes. We sat with grieving parents, widows, and children who have lost so much.

In just one small community of 92 households, 31 people lost their lives. That is only one example of the devastation here.

We met an orphan who still believes mom and dad will come back. We met people who are still afraid to even look at the river they now call the “killer river.”

It was a hard journey, but a meaningful one.

And somehow, even here, there is still hope.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and trusted us to carry your support to these families. Our help may be small, but we will keep doing what we can.

We’ll share more details as we go.

We hope our small effort has brought even a little comfort to women and children in need during this difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who supported us and made this possible.
This would not have been possible without you.

Nepal is hurting.
Thirteen days after the Bhote Koshi floods, there is grief, loss and uncertainty especially for the communities directly affected.
But there is also a country still standing. Roads are moving. Shops are open. Trails are welcoming visitors. People are working, praying, rebuilding and carrying on.
If you’re planning to come to Nepal, don’t cancel the country because of one disaster zone. Check your route. Speak to your operator. Follow local guidance. And if it’s safe, come.
Because when you visit, you’re not just a tourist. You’re supporting the guides, porters, drivers, hotels, restaurants, families and small businesses whose livelihoods depend on this season.
See the grief. See the life. Both are Nepal. 🇳🇵

Ran Kathmandu this morning from Naxal through Pashupati, Boudha, Narayanhiti, Durbar Square, and back.

A simple run through faith, history, memory, and home.

The older I get, the more I realize that some journeys are not about how far you go.

They are about remembering where you come from. 🇳🇵

Spent a deeply meaningful afternoon in conversation with Dr. Sanduk Ruit and his team.

We explored how to broaden our partnership with the One Step Foundation, focusing specifically on how we can deploy effective relief to communities devastated by recent flooding and help them emerge from this tragedy.

There is immense promise in what we can achieve together. Meeting with Dr. Ruit is always a masterclass in grace and purpose, a truly humble gentleman whose dedication continually sets the standard.

In times of crisis, relief is not just about food and shelter. It is also about dignity, health, privacy and the basic necessities every woman and girl deserves.

One Step Foundation is taking another step to support 1,000 flood-affected women and girls across Nepal through Dignity Boxes filled with essential hygiene and personal care items.

Because even in the hardest moments, dignity should never be a luxury. ❤️🇳🇵

**Dignity Box Initiative: Supporting Women and Girls Affected by the Floods in Nepal**
As families across flood-affected areas of Nepal face displacement and uncertainty, women and girls are often left without some of the most basic essentials needed to protect their health, privacy and dignity.
We are preparing 1,000 Dignity Boxes specifically for women and girls in affected communities.
Each box will include essential menstrual and personal hygiene supplies, undergarments, soap and other personal-care items, baby diapers, and other basic necessities that become even more important during a disaster.
Food and shelter are critical, but so are the everyday essentials that help a mother, sister or daughter feel safe, clean and cared for during one of the most difficult moments of her life.
We are procuring and assembling these Dignity Boxes in Nepal so we can move quickly and support local sourcing wherever possible. Each box is expected to cost approximately NPR 5,000.
We are coordinating with the Government of Nepal to hand over the boxes directly to government agencies and teams actively working in the affected areas, helping ensure they reach the communities where they are needed most.
Our Foundation team is also preparing to be on the ground as early as Friday, September 4, to support the ongoing relief effort.
We have already contributed NPR 25 lakh toward the response, and the Dignity Box initiative is part of our continued commitment to stand with the people of Nepal during this difficult time.
Every step we take is one step toward protecting the dignity, safety and well-being of our mothers, sisters and daughters.
