RESCHEDULED: Booster Club meeting tonight postponed to next week. Follow for updates!
09/11/2025
Amidst the chaos of the past few days, today we pause.
September 11th will always remind us of the incredible sacrifices made by first responders and everyday citizens who chose duty, service, and courage in the face of unthinkable tragedy. Their example continues to guide us – as firefighters, as emergency medical providers, and as community members – to place others before ourselves, to serve with honor, and to strive each day to live up to their legacy.
• 343 firefighters
• 71 law enforcement
• 8 EMS personnel
• 2,600+ civilians
We will never forget.

*LEAGUE UPDATES*
The Scott Township Trustee Office has made the decision not to host a fall baseball/softball season this year. This choice comes as we begin a transition of league responsibilities to the Scott Township Recreation Booster Club, who will play a larger role in the future of our league. As we hunker down and use this fall to prepare for Spring, let's support our Scott Township Recreation Booster Club by attending meetings, volunteering, and spreading the word - they're going to need more hands and feet and voices and YOURS would be perfect for the job!
We understand this may be disappointing news, and we want our families to know this decision was not made lightly. It reflects a thoughtful step forward to strengthen our league long-term and ensure sustainable, community-led success.
We look forward to returning in the spring with renewed energy and support, and we deeply appreciate your understanding and continued commitment to our youth. We will miss you on the field but look forward to seeing you at Booster Club meetings!
Thank you for being part of the Scott Township Ball Park family!

We know everyone is waiting to hear the final decision on Fall ball leagues and we want to confirm we will have a final decision announced by Friday, August 1st. So, check back here then! We will also send out an email with updates about the league, so if you haven't ever registered for a Scott Township team and would like to be added to the email list, please let us know!
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding! We appreciate your love for the park! If you're looking for ways to get involved and do more for our beloved league and park - head over to the Scott Township Recreation Booster Club monthly meetings and stay in the loop! The next meeting is Tuesday, August 5th at the Scott Township Ball Park Clubhouse.

🐾 Honoring Fire Department K9 Siren 🐾
The Vanderburgh County Fire Department will soon say farewell to one of our most unique and beloved team members after losing her battle with a rapidly degenerative illness. K9 Siren, our firehouse Dalmatian, has served our department and our community with quiet dedication, comforting presence, and a heart full of love.
K9 Siren came to us two years ago as a deaf rescue from the Vanderburgh Humane Society. At seven years old, she immediately bonded with our crews due in no small part to her perpetually-salty expression and love of food. Siren quickly became a staple of our department — a steady companion during long shifts, a source of comfort after difficult calls, and a natural fit for our public outreach and community support efforts.
She played an active role in our Fire Prevention activities, visited schools to help teach young children about smoke alarms and home safety, and was often the first to greet families at PR events and station tours. Through our CARES Program, K9 Siren joined team members on visits with patients throughout our service area, particularly with elderly residents who no longer had pets of their own. Her quiet companionship provided something words alone could not.
More than a mascot, K9 Siren was a partner and a member of our firehouse family. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the lives she touched.
We will be holding a brief memorial service to honor K9 Siren’s life and the impact she made on so many, which will take place this Friday at 12:00 p.m. at the shelter house in Scott Township Park. Department members, local first responders and the community are invited to attend as we come together to remember her legacy.

Looks like the restrooms needed a break from all this heat! Apologies for the inconvenience, but we have to close the Clubhouse restrooms until we can assess drainage issues that are coming back up. All jokes aside for we hope to have a clear plan and path forward later this week. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
