It doesn’t have a compass in the stock or a thing that tells time, but it’s still an awesome present from my wife. .50 cal Kentucky Long Rifle. This is my first black powder gun, but likely not my last.

Another one bites the dust. I guess is just going to delete my entire back catalog of videos. I have a Rumble account. I am going to try to get some content up there in the next couple of weeks once work stabilizes. Let me know if you guys use Rumble and what you think about it. I am also considering reviving our Patreon when I find a better video host.

Yep…that tracks. wants me to succeed by deleting decade old videos that didn’t violate terms of service when they were posted. Oh well. Can’t fight it. No reason to worry about it. The video was published on August 25th, 2012. Hopefully it helped the thousands of people who viewed it. I am done worrying about it, but I am also aware that anything else I post showing weapon maintenance will probably be deleted.

is at it again. Removing videos that are MANY years old because they violate “firearms” policies. You can “appeal” and they delete the video anyway. It amazes me that YouTube can make money off of my content for years and then re-interpret their policy and delete. If you wonder why I don’t put my heart and soul into YouTube content anymore….this is a large part of it.

It’s little things that make me happy. Like finding a set of US made, fifty year old, scope rings to mount a straight 4x scope on an old 10/22 carbine. #1022

WARNING: Long Post. I don’t want anyone to misunderstand. I am not a P320 hater. Nor am I a fanboy. I have been doing this professionally for too long to worship at the alter of one gun or one manufacturer. I have more than a couple P320 pistols. Some are relatively stock, some, like this RX have most components modified. This gun is an early P320 (post voluntary recall). It has thousands of rounds through it. When I bought my P320 X-Five Legion as a competition gun, this P320RX became my backup. The P320 X-Five also has thousands of rounds through it. I trust both of those guns. Unfortunately, because Sig will not admit there is a problem or publish an affected serial number range, I had to make the decision to ban all of them. It means that I can’t use either of these proven guns because I can’t know the history of every P320 that may show up at our academy or range. I also won’t be able to defend them with good faith in the event of an incident. How can I risk ruining a new officers life if we have an incident? This is bigger than what gun you like or dislike. It simply comes down to a decision between platforms that have been proven and don’t exhibit issues or risking using one that may have issues even though other acceptable options exist. My P320s are likely now going to be relegated to solo range days. I can’t in good faith teach a class with one until Sig fixes this nightmare. I will still evaluate one-on-one coaching sessions with them, but I cannot trust them in a class environment.

The question is, will Sig admit there is a problem with the P320 and recall affected guns? Until then, I expect the P320 will be banned from more and more classes and dropped by more departments.

It looks like the website is down. I am not sure when it crashed, but I will be working tomorrow to get it back up. Rusty thought you should know that he is very concerned.

Have you ever found a bolt carrier group laying around and have no idea where it came from? 😂

Come home from NC to find my SI Magwell waiting. This is a work of art. Can’t wait to scratch up that beautiful funnel. 😂 #1911
