The Phillies have relieved Rob Thomson of his duties as manager.

The Phillies announced that they have dismissed Rob Thomson after their 9-19 start this year. Don Mattingly will be Philadelphia's interim manager through the end of the season.

Zach Messinger (AAA Yankees)-Zach had a rough outing last week but bounced back on Sunday with two innings in relief with 4 strikeouts. So far for the season he sits with a record of 1-0, pitching in 4 games so far for the RailRiders

Cameron Decker (High A Dodgers)-Cameron has had a couple great games offensively this week with a 2-3 performance on Tuesday. He has 1 home run on the season and 7 RBIs.

Cam Tilly (Single A Mets)-Cam has started two games already for the St. Lucie Mets this year and is 1-0. He’s pitched 8.1 innings with 11 strikeouts and a 3.24 ERA.

Matthew Fisher (FCL Prospect League Phillies)-Matthew’s season won’t officially start until May but we hope to still provide updates. Prospect League games are typically not tracked but we have some friends who can help provide us stats.

Also of note, this season also brings on new jobs for some former major leaguers from Evansville. Of course we all know about Don wearing the Phillies uniform this year, but Jerad Eickhoff is now the pitching coach for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (AAA Marlins) and Aaron Barrett is the manager for the Clearwater Threshers (Single A Phillies).

Zach Messinger gets his first outing for the Yankees AAA affiliate Scranton/Wilkes Barre RailRaiders. He took the ball for a scoreless 1.2 innings with a strikeout. Nice start to the season Zach!
