Time for another Minor League Roundup!!!
Zach Messinger (AAA Yankees) - Zach’s year has been dominant! He’s 6-1 out of the RailRider bullpen and is sporting a 3.06 ERA. He’s currently sitting at 50 innings pitched with 42 strikeouts on the year. He had a couple rough outings at the beginning of the year, otherwise that ERA would be under 2. That September call up has to happen, if not before.
Cameron Decker (High A Dodgers) - Tough season at the plate for Cameron but he’s put in two great games in a row. Three hits in his last eight at bats for the Great Lakes Loons. He’s hit 5 home runs on the year.
Cam Tilly (A Mets) - Cam has had a great first year of professional baseball starting 12 games with 54.1 innings pitched with 52 strikeouts, but unfortunately was placed on the DL on July 4th.
Matthew Fisher (A Phillies) - The highly touted pitcher out of Memorial has had a strong start to his professional career. He’s currently 1-1, pitching 20 innings over five starts. As stated before on our page, Matthew got his first professional win back on July 8th giving up 1 run on 2 hits over five innings. His last outing was on July 22nd where he pitched another 4 innings giving up only one run on one hit.
Congratulations to University of Evansville’s Max Hansmann! Max was drafted in the eighth round, 226th overall and has signed his contract with the Washington Nationals. Max was activated on Wednesday and will be pitching for the Nationals PCL (single A) team in West Palm Beach, FL still this season. Congrats Max!

What an honor it was to be a part of Sandlot baseball this morning at the Boys and Girls Club of Evansville. Thanks for having us be a small part of this awesome experience for the youth in our area.
Tomorrow morning will be really special for some of our youth in Evansville. I hope you will join members of the Tri-State Hot Stove League at tomorrow’s SandLot baseball game. Come cheer on the youth in Evansville!
Time for another Evansville area minor league round up!
Zach Messinger (AAA Yankees) - Zach’s ERA continues to drop. After giving up no runs on three hits in May, so far in June he’s only given up two runs on 7 hits. His ERA is down to 2.35 for the season with 32 strikeouts in 40 innings out of the bullpen. Might the Yankees be calling soon???
Matthew Fisher (A Phillies) - Fresh off of a promotion to Clearwater and a #10 ranking in the Phillies organization, Matthew has had his first couple of starts for Clearwater. His best was two nights ago when he pitched 4 innings giving up only 3 hits and no runs against Jupiter. What is so cool about his promotion to Clearwater…his skipper is Evansville’s Aaron Barrett.
Cam Tilly (A Mets) - Cam has had a solid June going 1-0 with an ERA of 1.00. Over that span, he’s pitched 18 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 10 hits with 15 strikeouts. For the season, he is 3-2 for the St. Lucie Mets with 52 strikeouts over 54.1 innings. Keep that hot streak going Cam!
Cameron Decker (High A Draft Dodgers) - Cam has now come back from injury and has had some pretty good games as of late. On June 23rd, he was on base 4 times going 2-3, added two walks, and two stolen bases.
Elijah Dunham (AA Angels) - Elijah has also been dealing with the injury bug. Unfortunately he’s only had 95 at bats on the year, but hopefully the injuries are now in the past. He’s hitting .211 on the year with 2 home runs and 9 RBIs. On June 21st, he was on base 3 times with a hit and two walks.
Major League notes…How about Don Mattingly’s run as Phillies manager? He’s taken his club to a playoff position with the best record in baseball since being named the interim manager. Along with Oliver Marmol of the Cardinals, Don was recently named to the coaching staff of the National League all star team by Dave Roberts of the Dodgers. Congratulations Don!

Evansville's Matthew Fisher Takes Another Big Step Towards the Big Leagues! After a dominant start in rookie ball, Memorial High School graduate Matthew Fisher is already moving up in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.
Hey Evansville! How about another Minor League Roundup?
Zach Messenger (Yankees AAA) - He’s still yet to give up a run in May! Zach came in on Tuesday night out of the bullpen to pitch 2.1 with three strikeouts. Let’s take this a bit further…Zach has only given up one hit in May in 10 innings!!!! His ERA is now down to 3.67. Hey Evansville/Newburgh…keep an eye on Zach!
Cam Tilly (A Mets) - Cam has had two good outings in the last week pitching a total of 8 innings giving up 3 runs on 9 hits with 4 strikeouts. Great return to form for Cam!!!
Matthew Fisher (Rookie League Phillies) - Matthew has now started three games down in Clearwater for his instructional team. His best was just this past Tuesday night pitching 3 innings of one hit ball with 3 strikeouts.
There you have it…three area pitchers that all seem to be carrying the Evansville area pitcher pipeline in professional baseball. Really exciting stuff. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend, Night of Memories fans!!!
