Some exciting news from MLS about potential expansion. MLS commish Don Garber has stated that the next two MLS expansion teams will be announced towards the latter half of next calendar year and those teams will begin play before 2020. Early favorites for those 2 spots are Sacramento and St.Louis as they are the two farthest along out of any of the potential expansion cities. Having an MLS team this close to Evansville can only help grow the beautiful game locally.

Music City sets sights on MLS: The rise and rise of soccer in Nashville In early 2013 Chris Jones was in a Nashville bar with a group of soccer-minded acquaintances wondering out loud how to start a club.

Back in March the city of Evansville hosted its first professional outdoor soccer game as the Indy11 from the NASL faced off against St.Louis FC from the USL. I was at that match and it was a great time, not to mention the fan turnout was awesome especially for a Wednesday night. What would you guys think of Evansville got a pro team in the future? Or even a 4th or 5th division amateur team in the PDL or NPSL?
