🥋 TEAM PLAYER OR TEAM PROBLEM? 🥋
Everybody wants to be part of a winning team.
Very few people stop and ask:
"What does a great teammate actually look like?"
A team player:
✅ Shows up consistently.
✅ Gives their best effort, even when nobody is watching.
✅ Celebrates the success of others.
✅ Takes correction without getting offended.
✅ Supports teammates during wins and losses.
✅ Brings positive energy to practice.
✅ Understands the team comes before individual recognition.
✅ Accepts responsibility when they make mistakes.
✅ Works hard even when they aren't the star.
A person who is NOT a team player:
❌ Constantly complains.
❌ Creates drama or division.
❌ Wants attention more than improvement.
❌ Makes excuses instead of adjustments.
❌ Talks about commitment but doesn't follow through.
❌ Gets jealous when teammates succeed.
❌ Only participates when things are going their way.
❌ Wants recognition without earning it.
❌ Quits when adversity shows up.
Here's the truth:
Talent might help a team win a match.
But character helps a team win a season.
The athletes who become leaders aren't always the most talented.
They're the ones who are dependable.
They're coachable.
They're accountable.
They're willing to put the team's success ahead of their own ego.
At the end of the day, people won't remember how loudly you talked about your goals.
They'll remember how you treated your teammates while pursuing them.
Be the teammate everyone wants beside them when things get hard.
🥋 Train Hard. Train Smart. Train Legacy.

🌎🥋 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND! 🥋🌎
At Legacy Martial Arts, we often tell our students that success leaves clues.
It isn't luck.
It isn't coincidence.
It isn't given.
It is earned through discipline, consistency, sacrifice, and the willingness to keep showing up when others choose not to.
Today, we are proud to recognize several of our students who have earned the opportunity to compete on one of the biggest stages in martial arts—the 2026 ATA World Championships in Phoenix, Arizona.
⭐ Ranking Qualification
Congratulations to Yousif Othman, currently ranked #8 in the WORLD in Boys 1st Degree (Ages 15–17) XMA Weapons with 20 World Standing points. What an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the countless hours of training and dedication invested in his craft.
⭐ Wild Card Qualifications
Congratulations to:
• Kristoffer Rouse
• Oystein Brookhiser Taylor
for earning their World Championship spots by capturing District
Titles this season and securing Wild Card positions to compete at Worlds.
Opportunities like these are not accidents. They are earned through hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to being better than you were yesterday.
As your Legacy family, we couldn't be more proud of each of you.
Thank you for representing our school, our community, and the values of martial arts with excellence.
The journey isn't over yet.

To all athletes thinking about skipping summer workouts and practices:
Just know, while you're taking time off, there's another student-athlete out there putting in double the work to earn your spot.
‼️*Missing summer workouts?* There’s a spot waiting for you on the sidelines this fall.
And parents — before scheduling a meeting with coaches or venting on social media about playing time — ask yourself: Did you make sure your kid showed up and put in the work?
Let’s not blame coaches for what wasn’t done in the offseason. 👀
This goes for every sport.
Effort matters. Accountability matters.
Coaches and parents can’t want it more than the athlete does.❗❗❗

🥋 Friday Thoughts for Athlete Parents 🥋
Just a little encouragement as we head into the weekend.
Parents, one of the greatest gifts you can give your child in any sport, activity, or hobby is consistency.
There will be days when they don’t feel like going.
There will be days when they’re tired.
There will be days when they think they’re not good enough.
But remember this:
Inconsistency often breeds a lack of confidence.
When children miss practices, classes, or training opportunities, they begin to feel behind. They lose momentum, they lose familiarity, and often they lose confidence in themselves. Then suddenly, the activity they once loved becomes something they feel nervous or uncomfortable returning to.
On the other hand, consistency builds confidence.
Every class attended.
Every practice completed.
Every small victory earned.
Those moments stack up and create belief.
So my challenge to all athlete parents today is:
✅ Encourage commitment, even on the days motivation is low.
✅ Praise effort more than results.
✅ Remind your child that confidence doesn’t come before participation—it comes because of participation.
The kids who stay consistent aren’t always the most talented.
They’re often the ones who simply kept showing up.
Keep encouraging. Keep supporting. Keep helping them take the next step.
Because confidence isn’t built overnight—it is built one consistent day at a time.
Have an amazing weekend, everyone!

🏆🔥 HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR JV COMBAT SPARRING TEAM! 🔥🏆
We would like to take a moment to congratulate our Legacy Martial Arts JV Combat Sparring Team — “The Terminators” — on an incredible performance this past weekend at the “Dominate the Valley” Tournament hosted in Oregon!
These athletes fought with heart, discipline, determination, and true team spirit, earning:
🥈 2nd Place Team Overall
🏆 Washington State Title Recognition
🎟️ And officially punching their ticket to the District Championships!
This achievement is a direct reflection of the countless hours of training, teamwork, sacrifice, and commitment these students have poured in on and off the mat. We are beyond proud of the growth, resilience, and warrior spirit each competitor displayed throughout the event.
To our students, coaches, families, and supporters — thank you for believing in the vision and continuing to push toward excellence together.
The road to Districts starts now… and The Terminators are just getting started. 👊🔥
