Did you know that just listening to nature sounds can promote a sense of relaxation, reducing blood pressure and stress hormones?
All my virtual hike videos are filmed in a way to help bring beauty and peace into each and every day. I am very excited about today's video. This one was filmed at Slide Lake. We start off hiking through a boulder field home to mammoth-sized old-growth evergreen trees. We end at a beautiful high alpine lake on a gorgeous sunny day. All audio you hear is from this special place. I really hope you enjoy today's video!
New videos are released every Tuesday at 2pm. Enjoy!

Life doesn't have to be so serious.
Take the pressure off.
Be less productive.
Take a nap.
Enjoy mindlessness.
Do something without a goal, destination, or objective in mind.
We don't need to suffocate life with endless "doing".
Why is "doing" so addictive? Why is optimizing our lives so in vogue?
The Dutch have given a word to "doing nothing" - niksen.
According to Susan Weinschenk Ph.D....
"When you give your Executive Attention Network a break by not thinking or focusing on anything, in particular, that frees up your Imagination Network (I know, I know, but this is actually the name given to this brain network by scientists) to work on solving problems and coming up with new ideas based on what you were concentrating on before. So it is true that taking a break and staring into space for a while will help you come up with ideas and problem solutions."
I love taking walks in nature with absolutely nothing in mind. I have come to realize I get to a place where my imagination comes alive and all of a sudden I can create anything out of what I see. Apparently, this is when I am activating my Imagination Network.
What is your favorite way to do niksen?

βYou can fail at what you don't want so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.β - Jim Carrey
This quote has always appealed to me for a variety of different reasons. The story behind it is particularly impactful.
βMy father could have been a great comedian but he didn't believe that that was possible for him, and so he made a conservative choice. Instead, he got a safe job as an accountant and when I was 12 years old he was let go from that safe job, and our family had to do whatever we could to survive. I learned many great lessons from my father. Not the least of which was that: You can fail at what you don't want. So you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.β
What a powerful lesson to learn at a young age that was paramount to the success of his comedy career. And one that we can all learn from.
I have no idea if Wanderling Creations or North Starr Adventures will be successful but what I do know is that living a life without giving it my all wasn't worth risking. So I took the scary leap, left a safe choice AND moved in with my mom. Two things most people would never do in their mid 30's.
We only get one life and it is short. What dream have YOU always wanted to nourish?

I really really love helping people grow, expand, move toward their dreams, create a highly value aligned and meaningful life!
However, I have no idea how to explain or share the magic, the movement, the exponential growth that is created in our coaching relationship.
A client I worked with over the past 6 months had a formative experience during our time together. She really wanted to write a review and I said I'd love that! ππ
"I highly recommend Hailey as a coach for anyone who is seeking a holistic approach to their career development. When I started with Hailey, I felt anxious and uncertain about my direction, and we culminated with a successful admittance to graduate school. Hailey is excellent at keeping you accountable, but also empathetic and understanding. I feel so lucky to have met Hailey at this crucial junction in my career!" - CD
Yeah! I am soo excited for her and her new path forward! ππ
If you are looking for support during a challenging transition or career change I am your girl! β Shoot me a message!

If you have been thinking about hiring a coach, this is an informative video that describes what coaching is and is not.
The coaching industry is currently largely unregulated so it can be confusing to the potential client. But there is a global governing body (ICF) that sets standards and ethics. I would say I am proud to have received my certification through an ICF accredited program. π
If you would love to learn more outside what this video offers, I'd be more than happy to chat with you about what working with a coach and/or me is like.
Cheers!
What is life coaching? It's not therapy, but it's a nearly $3 billion business
Life coaches are part of the $2.85 billion global industry of professional coaches. Despite being an unregulated industry, the profession is thriving.

Forests are truly amazing. Recent research has uncovered how trees communicate via mycorrhizal networks in the PNW. Trees share resources among their network but "mother trees" are particularly interesting. They will distribute more resources toward their identified young to ensure their growth and survival.
I love guiding people through forests and helping them develop unique relationships with their local ecosystems. I also love sharing the beauty and tranquility of the forest to people outside of the state via my videos.
I have been getting great feedback on my canopy segments in my virtual hikes. I will try to incorporate more of these. If there is something you like, let me know. I'd love to incorporate it in upcoming videos. ππ²π
A new video is released every Tuesday at 2pm PST on my YouTube channel - North Starr Adventures! I encourage you to check them out! π Cheers!

Life was crazy this last year and I wasn't able to get this project off the ground. But now I have more time and I am so very excited to release my first video today!
Every Tuesday I will be releasing a new virtual hike or 'Nature Snack' video.
The virtual hike videos are extensive in length (about 40 minutes) to allow for a highly immersive experience.
The Nature Snack videos are about 5 minutes long to allow for more ease to fit into your busy day.
The intention behind these videos are to help you...
Reduce Stress
Bring about relaxation
Increase clarity and creativity
Decrease anxiety
Renew your sense of wonder
Experience awe
They can be used as a break in your day, before bed, during meditation, or while walking on a treadmill or biking on a stationary bike.
The natural areas I take you to in these videos are absolutely gorgeous and filmed in a way with you in mind. I use a gimbal with my camera to reduce shaking and pan slowly.
They have been a joy to create and I hope you enjoy them!
With much love! - Hailey
