Vail Daily’s latest story, “Fear and Loathing on Loveland Pass,” takes us inside one our rider’s first Triple Bypass — from the 4 a.m. wake-up call and the nerves at the start line to the bagpipes on Loveland Pass, watermelon at the aid stations, mechanical mishaps, fierce-but-friendly competition, and that final push into Avon.

Because the Triple isn’t a race. There are no podiums. It’s something bigger: a challenge you put in front of yourself just to see if you can do it.
