Peterson, Mitchell, Peck, Empey and L Coates Win at Deming Speedway

Everson, WA - Five familiar faces graced victory lane at Deming Speedway on Friday night with racing sponsored by Saw Service of Washington. Feature winners on the night included Jared Peterson, Kyle Mitchell, Alex Peck, Dayton Empey and Luke Coates.

Make it 9 wins on the year now for Jared Peterson in the Speedmart 600 division. Peterson turned away a challenge mid race in traffic from Spencer Constance but was otherwise by himself in taking the win. Constance ended up spinning out and having to rally from the back, giving Colton Knapp and McKenna Morgan a chance to battle for podium spots, with Knapp finishing ahead of Morgan at the end. Heat wins went to Peterson, Reese Wickard and Dylan Resch.

Kyle Mitchell looked to have the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 main well in hand until lap 24. Coming through turns three and four to the white flag, Mitchell missed his line and lost a ton of speed, giving Jaden Thomas a chance to drive under him down the front stretch. Mitchell would lead lap 24 but Thomas had the car speed to take the lead going into the first and second turn. Mitchell came back on the bottom of the track and slid Jaden in turns three and four to retake the top spot and salvage the win, leaving Jaden in second. Nate Vaughn ran third. Thomas and Vaughn won the heats.

Alex Peck ran away with the NW Focus Midget Series main event. Peck would lead all 25 laps, with Ashley Thompson taking second place and Shane Smith running third. Heat race wins went to Smith and Thompson.

Dayton Empey went wire to wire in the Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 66 Restricted main event. Owen Hill and Hudson Little closed in traffic late but top honors would stay with Empey as the checkered flag flew. Heat race wins went to Jordan Devries, Ryan Cannon, Hudson Johnson and Drake Wiersma.

Luke Coates pulled off a clean sweep in the Capstone Plastering JR Sprints. After setting quick time, Luke won his heat and went on to lead every lap of the main to complete the sweep. His cousin Jace Coates ran second while Kayson Sargent took third. Jace was the other heat race winner.

So, what exactly is a Hoosier Hero?
Hoosier Racing Tire created the Hoosier Hero program to recognize accomplished competitors who help fuel passion, pride and success in racing , both on and off the track.

McKenna is a 3rd generation Deming Speedway racer. She grew up here at Deming Speedway attending races at just a few days old, competing in junior sprints, the 600 restricted class and now the 600 Class. She is an avid mechanic, does her own car maintenance, Crews on the Lemley Family 410 team at Skagit Speedway and is a straight A student taking both High School and College Classes. After High School her dream is to head to Indiana to attend Purdue University as a Motorsports Engineering Student.

Now we have the chance to help send a Deming Speedway racer to the Hoosier Hero Final 12!

🔥 Get to know Titus Daigan ( ) 🏁
Class: Jr. Sprints

Titus Daigan’s racing journey started with the encouragement of his Papa, Brian Cook, and Nana, Valerie Cook, who encouraged him to give racing a shot alongside his older cousin, Hayden Cook. With Hayden becoming one of his biggest inspirations to race, Titus has continued building his own path in the Jr. Sprints. 🏁🔥

One of Titus’ favorite memories at Deming Speedway came during the 2025 CapStone Plastering Jr. Sprints Championship race, where he earned his highest A-Main finish with a 7th-place finish. Now, Titus is chasing the next step forward with three goals for the 2026 season: transfer straight to the A-Main, collect Top 5 finishes, and earn his first podium.

When he’s not racing, Titus enjoys making 3D-printed creations with a printer he purchased with his own money. And if he finds Victory Lane, the celebration includes a trip to his favorite restaurant, Playa Bonita in Arlington. 🌮🏆

His Papa, Brian Cook, is his biggest supporter, and the love of racing and support from his family are what keep Titus coming back season after season.
