Our next event is coming up!
Join local award winning filmmaker and storyteller Bob Glowacky for a screening of two short films about the natural world. In this documentary double feature, Bob explores the history of the Exeter-Squamscott River with his film What We Have In Its Place. The rivers and dams shaped the town from its founding to the present. The film tells the story of how the community grappled with the removal of the Great Dam in downtown Exeter which began 10 years ago in July of 2016.
Bob will also share a second short film made two years prior in the mountains of Slovakia. Bringing Back Bodrik, uses a lesson from Slovak folklore to explore how a unique breed of dog could be the solution to human predator conflict.
From growing up in the woods of Brentwood to working in Yellowstone National Park, Bob Glowacky always loved travel and nature. He combined these interests during his studies to pursue a Master’s in Wildlife Filmmaking with the BBC’s Natural History Unit in Bristol, UK. In 2016, Bob returned to Exeter with his new found storytelling skills to take over and reinvent the town’s community TV station, Exeter TV. He currently serves as the Media Communications Coordinator for the Town of Exeter, NH.
