Conference Basketball: Kardinals Boys & Girls Punch Tickets to 3A State Tournament March 18-21 The Kenai boys won back-to-back Region titles for the first time since 81-82, and the Lady Kardinals took 2nd after a narrow loss to Grace Christian.

🏀 It’s Tournament Time! 🏀

Your 2026 2A Southern Conference Basketball Tournament kicks off tomorrow morning (Thursday), with the first game starting at 11:00am. It will feature the Lady Arch Angels of Lumen, facing off against the Lady Wolverines from Ninilchik!

Attached are both the Girls and Boys brackets, including match-ups and game times. We hope everyone will make their way out to Homer High school and enjoy all of this weekends basketball action!

Alaska State Wrestling Championships Day 1 Highlights • Dec. 19, 2025

The City of Unalaska honored the Unalaska’s girls volleyball team at its city council meeting last night, a week after the girls paraded through town on top of firetrucks to celebrate their second year in a row as 2A state champions. The Raiders had an undefeated season, winning the championship at the state tournament in Anchorage earlier this month. It's their second consecutive state title. Back home in Unalaska, the team received a champion’s welcome. Fire trucks led a celebratory parade through town as players climbed atop the vehicles with help from Fire Chief Ben Knowles and team captains Arianna Morales and David Gibson.
