Pause, drop your shoulders...SINK THE QI, RAISE THE SPIRIT.
We live in a world that pushes us to operate from the neck up ignoring fatigue, pushing through tension, and treating our bodies like machines to be driven into the ground.
In the ancient Tai Chi Classics, it is written: "If there is top, there must be bottom; if there is front, there must be back." Yet we spend so much time pulled forward into our screens that we completely lose touch with our roots.
Practices like Tai Chi and Qigong are not about forcing a Tai Chi/Qigong form or performing for an audience. They are teaching us self-listening skills:
● Sink the Qi to the Dantian: Bring your awareness down into your center. Notice where you’re carrying protective instincts: a locked jaw, rounded shoulders, or shallow chest breathing.
● Invest in Loss: A fundamental classic principle. Yielding means giving up rigidity and meeting resistance with softness instead of force.
● Seek Stillness Within Movement: Slow, fluid movements unblock Qi so your energy can circulate without friction.
When you slow down to match the rhythm of your breath, the boundary between mind and body quietly dissolves. You stop treating your physical self like a machine and start treating it like a home.
Take a deep breath right now, drop your weight into your feet, and ask yourself: What am I holding onto, and what am I ready to let go?
